Located in bustling Yeoksam-dong, the Yeoksam Subway Station is a major transport hub on Seoul Subway’s Line 2. It provides access to Teheran-ro, which has been nicknamed “Teheran Valley” due to the abundance of IT-related company offices lining the boulevard.
Descend to the station platform to watch the trains coming and going from Yeoksam Subway Station or ride Line 2 into the centre of Seoul. One stop west of Yeoksam is Gangnam Station, which serves as a major transfer point for passengers connecting between the city’s subway system and buses travelling to destinations throughout Gyeonggi Province.
From Yeoksam Subway Station, you can stroll beneath the soaring skyscrapers that line Teheran-ro, which has grown to become one of the busiest streets in South Korea. It was named in 1977 as part of a joint initiative between Seoul and Tehran, with its counterpart, Seoul Street, running through the north of the Iranian capital.
Getting there
Yeoksam Subway Station is a 10-minute train ride from Seoul Station or around 1.5 hours from Incheon International Airport. Both buses and taxis are available for getting around Yeoksam-dong and the surrounding district of Gangnam.
