With additional campuses in Charlotte, Seattle and San Jose, Northeastern University is based in the city of Boston. It evolved from the Evening Institute for Younger Men that was established in 1898 before its School of Law, Automobile Engineering School and School of Commerce and Finance were opened in the early-20th century.

Getting around Northeastern University
The Northeastern University is easily accessed from the Ruggles transport hub on its southern edge or the Northeastern tram stop to the north. It’s around 10 minutes’ drive from central Boston and 15 minutes from Boston Logan International Airport.
