The town of Marlborough sits in central Massachusetts, home to classic country stores, outdoor adventure centres and an indoor shopping mall. The town also boasts three large lakes: Lake Williams, Millham Reservoir and Fort Meadow.
Things to do
For a glimpse of America’s past, head to Wayside Country Store. This nostalgic general store is packed to the rafters with knickknacks, sweets and souvenirs. If you’re here in the morning, pick up a fresh coffee and pastry to go.
Travelling with the kids? Trombetta’s Farm is a family-run ice cream parlour, mini-golf course and garden centre all mixed into one. The farm's home-made ice cream flavours range from raspberry ripple to caramel twirls.
Those looking to soak up the sunshine can head to Concord Street Park, a large green area with basketball courts, soccer fields and a walking track. After a morning in the park, fashion enthusiasts can head to Solomon Pond Mall, home to over 120 stores, an extensive food court and a cinema.
Marlborough is also a great gateway to Boston only a 40-minute ride away. Take a day trip to Boston to see the harbour, sample clam chowder at Quincy Market and visit the esteemed Harvard University. You can also catch a Red Sox baseball game at Fenway Park.
Boston Logan International Airport sits just under an hour east of Marlborough. The centre of town can be explored on foot, while you can make use of the local buses and taxis to explore the surrounding area.
