A museum devoted to military history, the National World War II Museum is affiliated with the prestigious Smithsonian Institute. It’s the official museum for showcasing and memorialising America’s contribution to the victory of the Allied forces in World War II. It showcases global leaders and major battles while also honouring the ordinary servicemen and domestic contributors to the war effort.
Poignant exhibits include the Arsenal of Democracy, which illuminates the stateside efforts, labour and patriotism of those serving on the Home Front. The Pacific Theater Galleries harbour a sombre tribute called the Road to Tokyo, which begins with Pearl Harbor. Head to the third floor of the Louisiana Memorial Pavilion to experience The D-Day Invasion of Normandy.
