Vila de Alenquer, well known as Vila Presepio, belongs to the Western Region, a region of extensive vineyards and hills crowned with mills between a martime coast with extensive beaches and the beauty of the Tagus river. Quinta do Covanco's excellent location at the entrance to Vila de Alenquer and 30km from Lisbon allows you to have a thoroughly deserved few days' break as well as getting to know other historic sites that are worth visiting such as Lisbon, Sintra, the Mafra and Queluz Convents, Obidos, Nazare, Tomar, Fatima…Quinta do Covanco dates back to the XIX century and is marked by a rural architectural style derived from the agricultural activities my grandfather performed in the past, namely vines. This imposing infrastructure was adapted to provide every comfort and a family atmosphere to those who visit us..
The farm is able to offer you the pleasure of comfortable accommodation, the tranquil surrounding countryside and a relaxed family atmosphere where you will have the chance to experience tasty home-cooked meals. The farm features 6 double rooms (each with en-suite bathroom, telephone, heating and satellite TV), a lounge with open fireplace, a piano and bar and a games room. After a lovely night's sleep, there's nothing like a lovely breakfast where mother Teresa's home made cakes and compotes are the highlight can not be missed. A stroll through the Quinta could be the next part of the day, or a visit to the historic town Alenquer and Montejunto Mountain, or enjoy some of the best portuguese wines on the Wine trail or the West's beautiful beaches like Peniche, Santa Cruz, Nazare and the Berlengas islands a maritime nature reserve of rare beauty - are particularly noteworthy. A number of activities are on hand; such as hiking, outings around the local municipality to see historical momuments, to know windmills route, the churches route... Also other activities are available like golf, tennis, horse riding, massages, boat trips, radical sports....To bring such a lovely day to an end, you can enjoy a lovely home cooked meal, a drink in front of a relaxing hearth or even adventure out to sample the good gourmet cuisine of the municipality's restaurants.
Golf players have an excellent oportunity to practise it in the West, like Golden Eagle. Another good suggestion for stimulating holidays is equestrian tourism, also available in the region.
