The best thing is location!!!

I found this hotel several years ago and could get a room because I always booked near to my arrival date until last year. The hotel is in an excellent location, in Plaka, where you want to be while in Athens. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is quite good. Its is very near all the good restaurants and bouzukias in Plaka, a few minutes, literally, from the Acropolis, Monasteraki, Syntagma, Ermou shopping street. I will definitely stay there in my next and any other stay in Athens, either for business or pleasure. It is just the very best value for money and it is not a 5 star hotel, which you don't need if you have all the wonderful restaurants and entertainment just a few steps away.

Lucky find on the internet. The staff was most helpful, the rooms very clean and quiet. The breakfast served was great. The location was perfect. I would book this hotel again on my next visit

Very nice with good sized rooms. The Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choice. Location was good and within walking or short metro ride to the major sights. Easy access to and from the airport, although this trip is very long. The 24 hour reception was very helpful and accommodating. An excellent choice for any length of stay in Athens.

Hermes Hotel is very conveniently located, close to the Plaka, Syntagma Square and some museums. The posh shopping area in Hermes Street is 5 minutes away. Breakfast was good but there was no restaurant for evening meals. There were enough cafes and restaurants in the area to choose from at night.

Convenient location in Plaka/Monastiraki, well suited for exploring all of the major attractions in the city. Hotel does not have a restaurant but there are many of them nearby so it is not a problem at all. Breakfast was provided and was quite good. Would stay there again.

Very friendly staff and helpful with all requests. Breakfast was average. The rooms were ok in size considering you are in Europe. The location of the hotel is excellent. It's in the heart of the city, close to all main attractions. I would stay here again.

THe Hermes Hotel was one of the nicest hotels we stayed in during our two week trip in Greece. The rooms were spacious enough and had excellent facilities. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. We went back twice at the end of our trip after our initial reservation. I would absolutely go back again, and highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a very good location, in the Plaka district, but just enough away to feel a little out of the main tourist area. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are many little stores nearby to buy groceries or food - including Mirrabella (great souvlaki!). We had previously requested via email (a week before we arrived), a double room with a bathtub and balcony or a view, we received email confirmation of our request, but when we arrived our request was not met, we were advised that this was only available on the twin room option. Room 301 does have a very noisy air conditioning unit. We would stay at this hotel again, only if we could ensure that we got a room with a balcony.
