Great location for sightseeing and near Chicago Transit Authority buses and trains. A very helpful and polite staff. The concierge informed us of special weekend events (The Taste Of Chicago) and gave us directions to this enjoyable event and other places of intrest.

Staff was excellent. When the parking people lost our car key, they did everything they could to resolve the problem. Expense of printing out a business document was prohibitive. Not business friendly hotel. This is an elegant wonderful boutique hotel in a wonderful area of Chicago. The staff was uniformly helpful and pleasant. I give it the highest recommendation.

The hotel, staff, rooms and location were all perfect. The breakfast in the restaurant was not worth the price. I have visited Chicago before and stayed in another hotel. For about $20, per person for the buffet, it was not good. The other location had a much better selection and higher quality. I love good food and do not mind paying for it, but the quality of this food should have had a $7-$10 price. Find food in another location.

We booked our wedding rooms and couldn't be happier with the service and how everything was setup for our guests.

It was a very good stay. The staff were very helpful and the renovations were beautiful. Super location, 1/2 block off Magnificent Mile. Great food nearby (Hugo's Frog Bar and Fish House, Giordano's Pizza...a must! And more) Went to Wrigley field for a Cubs game, also a must if in Chicago. Sears Tower, Museums, Parks, Navy Pier...Great stuff! Just don't walk as much as we did, unless you really like to. The easiest way to get around town is to use their public transit...get a 1,3,5 day CTA card and you can use it for all three modes of transportation (bus, El, train). River boat tour was great! Last thing, get a Go Card. It will save you $$ if you plan on doing a lot of the tourist stops.

The hotel personnel and restaurant. The elevators need renovation. This hotel was recently renovated. The room was comfortable, the decor dark and unattractive. The bathroom looked great, however, the overhead shower head is disconcerting to use. The restaurant is attractive and the food (breakfast), excellent. The hotel staff was delightful, accommodating, efficient and always friendly.

Location was amazing, right off Mag Mile and across the street from the Drake. Lobby area does look old but the bar gets busy around happy hour. Hotel is quaint and historic but the rooms are all beautifully renovated and modern, the bed is SO soft. Service was so-so. Room service food isn't bad either. Rooms have very thin walls, could hear the people next to us through the connecting door but oh well. Amenities are very nice, Gilchrist and Soames. Didn't like the rainhead shower because the water falls on you directly from above, so it's impossible not to get it all over your face while you shower. Lighting and mirror for doing makeup was not a problem in bathroom as I had read in other reviews, because there are 2 lights and a magnification mirror. Rooms are small but not tiny..would not recommend for a family because as it is an old hotel, the rooms aren't huge like one would be used to from Hilton, etc., which would be newer. Would not necessarily recommend for a business traveler because the business center is a small room with some computers and a printer...Perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Next time I go to Chicago, I'd totally stay here again.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. I was very happy with everything about The Knickerbocker. The staff was very polite and friendly. We were able to talk to them like we were old pals. The rooms were nice, clean and our room was very spacious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you Knickerbocker, hopefully we will be seeing you all soon.

Overall the hotel was very nice, clean and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly but we couldn't get over the hefty fee just to jump online to check emails or get info etc....(unless that is, you were printing a boarding pass - then it was free to do just that) I could see charging maybe a $1.00 for the first 15 minutes would be more realitic if you don't want people hanging around it. But 5 dollars? After all, Best Westerns have all internet for free! You don't want Best Western showing you up in the age of technology. Needless to say i didn't see a single person on any of the computers the whole weekend.

Great location, walk to mile and lakefront easily. Elevators weresmall, small lobby, andno pool. Great spot I walked to lake front every day for a walk along water, walk to Navy Pier, 15 minutes Mag Mile.

We stayed at the Millenium Knickerbocker for 2 nights in March. The location was perfect for shopping and wasn't too far to catch the train to other parts of the city. Although we found we could walk to most places we wanted to go from here. The room was small by very nice. Great bed and bathroom. The Drake Hotel, conveniently located across the street, offers nightly entertainment.

After reading the mixed reviews on the Knickerbocker, I was hesitant to stay there, but it turned out to be an excellent choice. It's really a charming little hotel. I say little because even though it's tall (14 or so stories) everything in it is jewel box sized. The elevators and rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny...BUT...they are neat and clean and very comfortable. The location is terrific, right off Michigan Ave and all the glamous shopping, a few blocks from the beach, and almost next door to the Hancock Tower. The staff I encountered during my stay was very friendly and polite. The concierge went out of his way to make sure my group had seating in the lobby area and provided maps of the area. I was pleasantly surprised by my room. It was fine for one and would have been just as fine for two. The decor was really nice. Others have complained about peeling wallpaper and so forth, but it was really minimal and not a surprise in a building of this age. Overall, I'm really glad I chose the Knick and would definitely stay there again.

Had a reservation for 2 days and due to weather, I missed a flight and could not make it for the first day. Hotel would not refund any money. Was forced to pay for a room I never used. Cheaptickets was VERY helpful and tried to resolve the problem but the hotel refused to help due to "hotel policy". To me, the do not have the guest in mind when conducting business. Other than that, the hotel was like many others. Nothing really wowed me but it was clean, quiet, and in a pretty good location.

We had a wonderful experience at the Chicago Knickerbocker - not onlywere the rooms very nice, comfortable, and very quiet, but the service was superb! Concierge service was top notch, as was the front desk. They even let us enter our room hours ahead of time! Thank you!!!

I was very unhappy with our room. For a 4-5 Star/Diamond hotel, the room was in horrible shape. Wallpaper peeling of bathroom wall, smell of mildew, rotten baseboard in bathroom with hole in it, carpet stains, marks on walls, etc. I expected much better.

The hotel's location helped make our weekend memorable. It is within walking distance of great shopping, dining and attractions. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. In fact, our first impression of the hotel was warm and welcoming! The room was clean, but not spotless. We liked the newly decorated rooms--very modern.

This family of four could not have been happier with our stay. We stayed in one of the dbl bed rooms which had a very nice layout. The rooms are not huge but are immaculate and have the most comfortable beds and pillows we have ever experienced. What impressed us the most was the superior attentiveness shown by every member of the staff we encountered. From the front desk to the maid service personnel these people were top notch! The maids who were in other rooms cleaning would call out greetings if you were walking down the hall. The front desk staff was very informative with local information. The bell hops were very attentive. We left our luggage with them in the morning the day we checked out so we could spend our last day in the city. We returned to retrieve them at at 9PM when we were ready to go home. This hotel's location is fantastic for all Michigan Ave. activities...extremely close to Water Tower Place (which houses American Girl Store & Drury Lane Theater), Bloomingdales, Hancock Building and great restaurants like Cheesecake Factory and Ghirardelli's. AMC movie theater & small grocery store is a close walk. If you are more interested in Chicago's various museums you will experience a $10-$20 cab fare. Also other theaters are about an $8-$10 cab fare.

I really loved the location. It had great atmosphere and everyone was helpful. The lobby was great for getting some work done; not loud.
