We had a very comfortable stay with many little extras making the Amrath a great hotel to stay in. The beds were very comfortable, even though they were two beds pushed together. The heavy electric curtains made the room remain very dark and gave us the much needed sleep in that we craved. The mini bar has a very good selection of free wines, spirits, juices and pop drinks that is re-stocked every day. The bathroom is very clean and has a separate deep bath and a separate shower. Our outlook over the canal made our Amsterdam stay very pleasant

Our a/c went out within an hour of our arrival, within 30 minutes the manager had prepared a new room , an upgrade from our existing room, and had us moved. Can't say enough about the way we were treated. Beautiful hotel, wellness center was nice, food and service was great. We will stay here in the future

The bed was the best part of the room, clean, fluffy, and had lots of pillows. It was a little small for the price paid but the bed and the bathroom made up for it. Hotel service was great, we had a little trouble with the AC but they quickly came up and explained it. The district was a couple blocks away and the city center was within walking distance.

This is a wonderful hotel and a great value in my opinion. We stayed in a junior suite which was fantastic. The free minibar and wireless internet are awesome (especially when some 5* hotels charge $10 for a small bottle of Coke or $40 a day for internet access). The staff could not have been nicer. We also liked the pool and spa area.

Excellent staff, very helpful, friendly. Color scheme wasn't great in room. Beautiful, stately old building, convenient to Central Station, downtown. Staff was excellent, friendly, helpful. Room was spacious, comfortable, good bed, great shower. Color scheme was a little jarring, but overall a wonderful hotel deserving of its luxury rating.

The Grand Hotel Amrath is a beautiful stately turn of the century building. Upon arrival the staff at the reception desk were very personable and friendly. We stayed in a superior deluxe room and found it to be very spacious, comfortable and clean. The room had a wonderful city view that overlooked the canal. The staff was outstanding and very attentive to our every need. Orbitz got it right, it certainly deserved the five star rating. I would certainly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. The hotel is a short walk from the Central Station for the Tram. The tourist office is directly across the street from Cental Station. Its also a short walk to the dock for boarding the canal cruises. We took the dinner cruise and had a marvelous time!

Hotel is a remodeled wearhouse so its a little confusing trying to find the room the first time. The room is very lager for euorpe and he 10 foot windows are very nice. The bathroom was very nice other than it needed a little more lighting, lights are behind you when you face the mirror. Restaurant in the hotel was very accomadating and staffed

Luxurious rooms and the hotel staff was superb. This hotel was the most luxurious hotel I have stayed at in all of Europe. The staff was attentive and extremely helpful. The accommodations exceeded my expectations.

The hotel is very close to the Central Station in Amsterdam. You can walk to many of the shopping areas as well as many restaurants. For those of you who like chinese food, it is within walking distance of the Sea Palace Chinese Restaurant, a reproduction of a famous floating restaurant in Hong Kong. The room was comfortable, with very good down comforters on the bed. We had a supreme room, an upgrade from the regular room. The minibar was stocked with about 5 small bottles of spirits, 2 bottles of wine, a variety of pop, juice and water. The also stocked it with Toblerone chocolate and peanuts. All the food was re-stocked daily. The room also had a N'espresso coffee machine, the ones that use the cartridge coffee system. The coffee tasted great! The room has a wide screen LCD tv, approximately 37. The bathroom was very clean and felt new. For those travelling with friends, the bathroom door is see-through to the bathtub/shower, so you may have to make adjustments for this. We liked the Seven Seas Restaurant within the hotel for the quality of the food, but it is on the expensive side, with a litre of water costing about 6 euros. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always having a cheerful and helpful demeanor. They were very approachable. I would stay at this hotel again!
