This hotel has a superb location making walking and the use of public transport very easy. It is a well established, high quality hotel I would gladly recommend.

Once again the service was excellent and the staff could not be any more helpful

The bathroom had not been cleaned upon arrival, which was a bit of a surprise...perhaps an oversight. When brought to their attention, it was rectified quickly. The next day there were cockroaches (2), another surprise. Not really worth the tariff but the location was very convenient and the staff were friendly

We stayed here for three nights before flying out to our next destination. Everything was as advertised, probably a little better. The front desk staff was terrific with directions and very welcoming. The room was nicely sized and well-appointed although slightly dated but really not bad. For the money and the location this was a really great place to stay, right in the heart of the CBD! We felt very safe and comfortable walking around at night even late. Parking was convenient for our rental car although pretty pricey even with the hotel voucher (* weekdays/* weekends) but I guess it's to be expected in the CBD. We were just a little suprised. Public transportation would be a good option as there is a metro stop directly across the street from the hotel. By the way, presence of the metro stop across the street did not degrade the quality of the area as metro stations often can.

The Menzies is one of the old-charm hotels located in the heart of the city. This used to be the best hotel in Sydney but as time goes by some upgrades are obviously needed. Overall, very friendly staff, unbeatable location--a 15 minute walk from Sydney Opera House--and a good value for money make this hotel a great find in such a busy and expensive Metropolis as Sydney.

We enhoyed staying at the Menzies in Sydney as it is so central for everything. We were right by Wynard station, could walk to Darling Harbour, walk into the city and shops. The pool and spa facilities were excellent.

The car park is a bit of concern especially coming out in the Rocks area with no map.

The Menzies is centrally located within walking distance of most of the sights. The rail station was just across the street (underground) so transportation to and from the airport is quick and easy. The hotel is clean, the room was relatively large and the bathroom was nice. My room faced the interior courtyard so there was nothing to look at except walls but the location and price made this a hotel I would certainly recommend.

Please note this hotel charges $A2.00 connnection fee for telephone calls made on a Calling Card or to a Toll Free number !!

We were initially disappointed with the size of our room as we had requested a spacious one. I understand that an upgrade is a priviledge and we were grateful for being given an upgrade of a King room. However, one of our friends who was staying at the Menzies for the same function was given a much larger room but hadn't requested it and was a single occupant. My husband went to enquire about the possibility of an upgrade to a more spacious room as it was my birthday (hence all the bookings from our friends,[], The gentleman behind the desk was so helpful and courteous and managed to get us a wonderful corner room (very spacious) which made my birthday weekend stay at the Menzies a very happy one. Thanks

The Menzies was located right outside the train stop from the airport and it was within walking distance of Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. The hotel was nice except for all of the smokers crowding the entry. This worked very well for us.

The South Tower is old and my room had an abysmal outlook. Location is magic and pool is very good.

This is a great location near Circular Quay and Darling Harbour - both are within walking distance. My only disappointment was the cleanliness and state of the bathroom.

Lacks a coffee shop offering simple meals. The main dining room offers excellant service and great ambience but is let down by the only average quality of the food.

Great location! I was a little disappointed with the size of the room, but then it's an older style motel. We had room service which was very prompt & the meal we ordered was very nice.

I only stayed at the Menzies 5 nights but I really enjoyed my stay there. The hotel is very well situated and pleasant. I was especially impressed by Andrew, one of the concierge, always smiling and helpful. I will definitely stay there whenever I got back to Sydney.
