Friendly golf hotelMy second stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. They could have done with a couple more staff in the at the bar/reception. I had to wait to check in and the bar person was busy with incoming golfers wanting drinks.I was upgraded to a suite - very nice. I couldn't get the tv in my bedroom to work and there was no soap/shampoo in the room when I arrived. The kind lady at the bar let me have some when I went down for dinner.Overall, friendly, comfortable and clean and the food at the bar/restaurant is good too. I'll stay again next time I'm down Exeter way.

Bliss at Fingle GlenThis was an unexpected last minute trip and chosen at random but did we come up trumps! The hotel is delightful, the setting exquisite, the facilities excellent and we will definitely be coming back and may book a Lodge next time. The staff were so helpful and the whole experience turned out to be a "memory" forever. I had no idea Devon was so wonderful and I can't wait to get back. Super central location for exploring the whole of Devon . A truly blissful trip! Should not be missed.

Great venueThis was overall a lovely hotel! The room was incredibly hot but I guess for the few really hot days we get aircon is not viable. Restaurant service was a little slow but otherwise no problems!

Fingle Glen Hotel reviewThis hotel is a golf club with hotel rooms and log cabins. We stayed in a cabin. I cannot fault the standard of the rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was amazing value and the food really good. The location is easy to find, beautiful and perfect for visiting Exeter and Dartmoor. I would definitely stay here again.

I cannot give a review based on the hotel accommodation as booked because I was upgraded to a log cabin which was lovely! This meant very good value for money, clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the poor drainage and no electric shaver socket.Food was pub grub really. Note: very poor information as no telephone number given and restaurant not mentioned leaving me unsure about what I was letting myself in for.

Breakfasts were excellent, huge bed, everything very clean, and very friendly staff. Just a couple of minor points that could easily be put right - the tv was rubbish, we tried re-tuning but could only get a couple of stations, and those not very good quality. We came back late one night and the hotel was in total darkness, we had to stumble across the car park as the security light didn't come on until we were nearly at the door. We feel that this could easily be adjusted. We enjoyed our visit and will certainly stay again.

Decent Golf hotelThe staff were friendly and welcoming, however, there was only one person on when I arrived and she was tending the bar, manning reception and was answering a query on the phone at the same time.... so it took a while before she could check me in. The room was clean and and bed comfortable, however the bathroom was tiny and tight!!I'd stay again if they have rooms with bigger bathrooms.

arrived after a long drive on sunday evening only to be told that they werent serving dinner for some unknown reason. nearest alternative was 10mins drive away.also, they seemed to be alot more concerned about the golf club members than about the guests in the hotel.

Fantastic. The best hotel we have stayed at in the Exeter area - we have stayed in quite a few. Wonderful golf course views with pool and fountain.

It only cost £75.00 for a double room b and d for 1 night and we were upgraded to a log cabin. These are of a very high standard. We were lucky as there was a function on that evening and as guests we were entitled to free access. Normal price £25.00 per head including food. Astounding value for money. The golf club members were very friendly and welcoming as were the staff. It almost persuaded me to take up golf but not quite :-)

Staff extremely pleasant and a fantastic room much better on the inside than the first impressions! Also was a bit worried about travelling to the place, as earlier reports had said it was a bit off the beaten track, but only 1 more junction on the A30 which is a good road and only adds 5 -10 mins on your trip. Small price to pay for a really good venue.

The hotel is very good but the food was poor

Friendly and helpful reception staff. Breakfast was good but service slow. Evening meal not taken. Buggies/trollies overpriced considering we were hotel guests. Would have expected a discount. We would not return purely because the golf course was too hilly, although nicely kept. All buggies were booked out and we had to use pull trollies.

Stayed in Firs Suite. Larger than expected with very large bathroom (with separate bath & shower). Separate sitting room area. Everything was very clean. Much nicer than expected from view of outside of building. Lovely breakfast.

This was a superb we stayed in the most lovely lodge, we (4 girls) enjoyed the self catering aspect with a superb view and utter peace and quiet. We were not impressed with the reception. On arrival at around 10pm on Friday night... the premises was in darkness not outside lighting... pretty straight forward though ... key and direction. although on arrival at the cabin... no outside lights so nearly broke our neck getting to the front door... the light was on inside... facilities in kitchen were excellent. one of the rooms had been made up as a double so a phone call to the reception... they arrived promptly and made up the twin... although we did not get refreshed towels for the three days, or loo roll or soaps etc... which was rather unreasonable... the house staff were very friendly. The golf reception was not so friendly and in fact turned us off playing another game...the range was great fun though really need your own clubs. We certainly were not encouraged in any way to partake in the game...we did not eat at the hotel as we novely cooked for ourselves. There was a huge bbq which we ordered for the last night though promised it did not arrive.... as it was we went out .it was very good value for the four of us and gave us the independance that we really enjoyed. We all loved our stay in our little wendy house.
