This was a great place. As being a frequent visitor, this was a basic clean place that I will gp to again. Try to get a room with a balcony, its big and great to sit out and enjoy the morning.

The receptionist that check us in was great! The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The initial attitude of one of the receptionist was less than friendly. Once we checked in the staff was fantastic. The room was very comfortable except for the bright white lite coming from the energy efficient bulbs. Bring a candle for more romantic lighting. Lot's af great restaurants within walking distance, including upscale dining as well as local must experience restaurants. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

We arrived at the hotel and checked in without any problems at all, we had a small room in the back with a window so we upgraded to one with balcony. We made the right choice, we loved having coffee there in the morning prior to breakfast ( I walked 1/2 blk to coffee shop on the corner) $1.00 for great coffee and we ended the day on the balcony unwinding before bed. Met our neighboring guest and learned alot of great info. They forgot to clean our room one day but as soon as I called it was taken care of. This was the exact type of place we wanted to go to even if it is a bit small. You can walk to many great sites and restaurants, the beach at the Sister hotel is great, we watched whales from the beach our last day there. The staff were very receptive to our needs, you must tip them however as that is their real means of income and you must think in dollars not pesos, it took a day or so to get the hang of tipping usually 10% was good, we tipped the maid 20 peso's each day and our room was always done right. The pool on the roof is right on but we preferred the beach. Look for the guy at the beach tip him and he will be remember you and take care of your needs at the beach. We will certain return to this hotel in the future as it is adult only the folks with kids can enjoy their other properties. Breakfast and dinner on the beach most days. If you like a lot of space this is not the place for you.

Short trip with my teenage daughter - we had a blast. Location is superb, can't wish for better. Old Vallarta is the place to stay for more authentic mexican experiance. Friendly helpful people, great weather. The restaurant at main hotel (Los Arkos) is very good, service was outstanding. For breakfast try The Langostinos restaurant right on the beach - appr. 1.5 minutes walk from our room. There are several taco stands down the street, good mexican food, very cheap.

casa dona was closed and had been for 30 days I was told. They put me in another hotel of theirs a block away.I was told the room and hotel were an upgrade,if this was true I am sure glad I did not in tha casa dona. The room was small and filled with two double beds,,it did have a beautiful balcony which was bigger than the room. After thinking I was booking into an adult hotel,it was loaded with kids.

The rooms, pools. Had two bad experiences with staff. I like the hotels; I upgraded to a larger room with them, and moved across the street. That other room was not clean when we checked into it, and the whole experience dealing with housekeeping was my worse traveling experience in years. Also first front desk woman was a pain. The housekeeping manger was out of this world, rude.

Went for price and pleasantly surprised. Just had a bad experience on a cruise because of stateroom neighbors so was gunshy. But there was nothing not to like about this hotel. It was quiet and staff were very friendly. Location perfect for catching buses. When I explored PV area I had to pat myself on back for picking this location. It's within walking distance of Malecon. The AI lets you use Los Arcos facilities, i.e., restaurant, bar, beach, spa, etc. We stuck to buffet 3 times a day. I understand at lunch you can pick off the menu but buffet offered assortment, especially deserts. We were told we didn't have to tip anyone but we tipped waiters anyway, 20 pesos which was about $1.50. We exchanged money at hotel which seemed to have the best rate. For some reason it was $23 to take cab from airport to hotel but $10 to take cab from hotel to airport; just the way cabs have it set up and Bellman at hotel got us a cab and advised cabbie not to charge more. Perfect beach with lifeguards. Have a person who helps with lounges and sets up an umbrella for you, part of AI. The swimming pool on the roof was unique and a quiet place to lounge around. Can't think of anything negative. Might have been nicer to have room at Los Arcos with view of ocean but we went for economy.

You get access to three hotels for your room reservation. The big one on the beach has activities, restaurants, crowds, the beach, music and dancing. When that all gets old or just loud, a one block walk up the next street takes you home to this lovely hotel. Pool on the roof with some of the best views of Puerto Vallarta. The Malecon is the main attratction in PV, and it starts just up the beach from here. Can't walk three blocks without finding 10 restaurants. Great time.

Well, we started with Orbitz on a great trip to Puerto Vallarta for 8 days. We have been to Mexico many times and love P. Vallarta, especially old town. We booked Casa Dona Susana because it is an adult only Hotel one block from the ocean. Our flight was good and we couldn't wait to get to the Hotel. A quick 20 min. ride and we are there. Well, almost... we get to a charming small Hotel with an empty front desk that was very quiet. No one was there??? Casa Dona Susana is also affiliated with Los Arcos & Playa Los Arcos which we had the use of. Come to find out the Hotel had been closed for two weeks? We weren't notified by them or Orbitz. We paid for adult only, no kids in the Hotel or pool. Across the street we went to Los Arcos and were told we had to stay there or Playa Los Arcos. Los Arcos had a pool that was surrounded by the Hotel & vegetation, partial sun at best, with kids in it. No thanks, so across to Playa Los Arcos. Playa Los Arcos is on the ocean and had a very nice large pool for kids and an adult area. There must have been thirty kids in the pool! [...]assured us that the kids would be gone in the a.m. Not thrilled at all. I tried to contact Orbitz, no luck in getting help from them. We were given an ocean veiw room that was nice. We made the best of what we had. What was good, the staff were excellent at Playa Los Arcos. [...] the front desk were awesome. More than accomodating for what we had to deal with. Our room was very nice and the all around staff couldn't be better. The location is the best if you like old town. The beach was very nice. The best restaurants with in walking distance. If you want silver, glass or pottery it is also with in walking distance. What was not good, kids.... even though there was an adult pool no rules were followed. After two days the place was filled once again with kids that felt the need to be in the adult pool. The food at the Hotel was good but expensive. Apaches`, Joe Jack's Fish Shack, and Freddy's are great l

Because of this hotels association with Villa Los Arcos Hotel, we had access to a nicer pool and the beach. No windows that you could look out of from your hotel room. This hotel was a tremendous value for our money. If you do not mind the short walk a half a block away to the Villa Los Arcos for a bigger pool, restaurant and the beach. Only a few of the standard rooms seemed to have a window that you could look out of. And even in those rooms the views were not much to look at, but you may want to insist on a window that opens if you like a breeze or the fresh air. The rooms were a little musty, but what isn't at the beach. It was not a problem for us. We had a wonderful vacation at the Casa Dona Suzzane.

Casa Do?a Susana met all our needs. It is the smallest of three associated hotels, with Los Arcos being the centerpiece. It is less than a block from its larger sister, which offers all the services a resident of that hotel receives to the Susana crowd. I asked to see a standard Los Arcos room, which is substantially more expensive than mine at Susana. The only advantage was a small table. The staff was excellent, friendly, fun, and helpful. The room was always cleaned beautifully, with extras; and I left a daily tip for the maid service - maybe that helped? Adults only, it was generally very quiet, and the pool on the roof and associated furniture was perfectly adequate. My son and I enjoyed it nightly after sundown. Our room had two comfortable double beds, a well functioning bathroom with hair dryer, a TV with remote and a phone and some sort of computer keyboard we didn't bother to try out, excellent air conditioning - a must in the heat of October - a personal safe, an adequate dresser and closet, and interesting Mexican decor. We were a block and a half from the beach and generally walked through Los Arcos to trade in our (free) enormous beach towels, and to breakfast at their beach-front restaurant with attentive waiters who remembered our names and a buffet that was reasonable in price and quality and changed some elements daily. We booked two tours through the concierge at Los Arcos; that worked perfectly and we got good advice. The Old Town location was a plus - easy walking to the Malec?n, Mercado, Rio Cuale and island, all the central elements of the city, and close to bus and taxi service for anything else. Nearby coffee shops and Internet cafes. Recommended!

Great Air Conditioning and TV. Food and Internet overpriced. This hotel was very clean and AC was very good. The only problem was one day that the water was on and off; but water was fine the other 13 days. I like the security, pool and free in-room safe.

If you are looking for a Mexican experience this is a basic hotel with a great location within walking distance of everything downtown. You also have the ability to use pool and beach facilities at Playa Los Arcos. The hotel is very clean. The bed and sheets are of high quality. Hotel description is somewhat misleading in that it states the standard room comes with a mini-refridgerator. However, upon arrival, I asked and they provided one. Otherwise, would definitely stay here again.

Just one block from the beach, tons of restaurants within walking distant, great walk starting at one end of the board walk all the way to the end and back, absolutely beautiful. I have been to Puerto Vallarta numerous times and will only stay in Zona Romantica. I went by myself and felt safe and comfortable strolling around by myself. I have stayed at this hotel twice and will stay again. For the price, location, and cleanliness it is great.

Great location, quiet and super clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. When I arrived I did not like my room location so they moved me to another room, very quiet and spacious. This is my third time in this hotel in 3 years. Great adult only hotel for those that do not want to holiday with other peoples children.

Staff. Beds are horrible, I only stayed one day (as scheduled). The staff are great and it is located close to the beach, many restaurants and shops so everything you need is close by. Other than the horrible beds, which felt more like box springs, the hotel has charm. They have a roof top pool which was secluded and not very busy so at night the poolside view was great. This is a small hotel which was part of it's charm.

This is a charming old hotel. The pictures of the public spaces do not do it justice. The courtyard is four stories high with trees and vines growing up through the roof. The floors are beautiful tile and all the doors are carved wood. The pictures of the rooms exagerate their size. (We had a total of 3 rooms and saw all the rest as the doors stood open most of the day when unoccupied) We switched from a small standard to a large upper room with balcony, which was very nice. Yes, most of the rooms have a musty smell, but it goes away. It is not as bad as the smell of the stuff they use to get rid of the musty smell. Book a balcony room or make sure you get an upper floor as they have windows that open. During the week we were there we had occasion to ask for service, in our three rooms, four times. I have never had such quick response in any hotel. Two clogged drains were fixed in minutes, a tv remote reprogrammed immediately and a room switched because of a faulty airconditioner. Wonderful service, nice people, efficient front desk. The best part of all is its roof deck. We were there in rainy season and we sat and experienced the tropical rains under the tiled rooftop pavillion and truly enjoyed ourselves. (we're from LA where it does not rain any more.) The elevator works but its doors will hurt you if you are slow. If you expect a modern, brand new US hotel, stay elsewhere. If you want a spotless, well run and charming Mexican hotel you will love this place. I don't recommend the main restaurant but desserts at the sidewalk cafe are great.

The front desk was friendly and helpful, the staff was great in assisting what we needed. If you should decide to stay here it is well worth the money its close to everything is in walking distance. I choose not to go back to this particular hotel would like to try others that Travel agent offers that we would like to try. This hotel is located in old vallarta which is worth staying instead of new vallarta. If you want to experience real mexico this is the place to stay you can't beat the view. The booking of the hotel was very simple and quick.
