Location, clean. Hot tub/spa not in working order-was too hot!
Date of Stay:
April, 2008
Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Pool was heated and the hot tub was nice too. Breakfast in the morning was good. For the price you can't beat it. Would stay here again.

The Baymont Inn & Suites is a very good value for your dollar. The hotel is very well maintained and provides the basics for a weary traveler. There is not a restaurant on site, but many a within walking distance and excellent options for food close by. Convenient to I-57 and Route 16 to Charleston.

Easy access from the main interstate. The pool tile was very slippery. Our grandson fell several times. Overall enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is close to the EIU campus - about a 10 minute drive from the university. It was clean and comfortable for a decent price.

Easy check in and really close to expressway.

It was quiet also a good breakfast. The tile in the pool area was very dangerous. Overall this is a decent place to stay. We mainly chose this place so that our kids could enjoy the pool area. But the tile in the pool area was very dangerous. We were slipping all over even just walking around. It kept us on edge.

I really couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The hotel even smelled nice! I had 2 dogs with me and they had a good place for them to go out. Lots of grass. The breakfast had a lot of options. I have never seen as big of a breakfast! The only problem I had was the Hot Tube was roped off because of repair. Great Location, Great Hotel!"

The Baymont Mattoon staff seemed to be a bunch of highschool and college kids who didnt really know how to run a hotel... When I checked in there were three employees behind the counter conversing and laughing, not a big problem, as long as they were paying attention to what they were doing. When I got to my room, I found that they had given me the keys to another room wich was occupied! When I returned to the front desk to return the keys and get the rite ones, the clerk laughingly said Oops, sorry about that (Hmm, wounder if someone is going to be handed the keys to my room during my stay?) Also, they had a pool on the ground floor wich smelled foul, you could smell it throughout the entire first floor, YUK! I do not plan on staying at the Baymont Mattoon again, or any of their other locations or sister hotels.

Eating and shopping close by. It was satisfactory for the money.

Baymont Hotel in Mattoon was clean and comfortable however it took so long to get checked in I didn't think I'd ever get to relax! Good location and restaurants close by.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We decided to change to two beds from a king-size and the hotel staff did the change without complaint. The breakfast was not quite what I expected needed more hot items. But, I left satisfied. We will stay here again. This should show proof of satisfaction. There are other hotels in the vicinity, but, Baymont will be our choice.

Incredibly efficient front desk, a very clean room, good amenities. No negatives.

Pool was wonderful. NA. The hotel itself was what I expected. It was a pretty average place. Clean, nice pool, good breakfast.

The breakfast was good. The room was dirty and the carpet was wet and the room smelled like mildew. The room was dirty upon check in and smelled like mildew. The carpet was wet and the ironing board did not work. When I complained to the hotel staff, they said they could not change my room because the hotel was at capacity. I am allergic to mold and I informed the staff of my allergy and my concerns that the carpet was wet and the roomed smelled. He offered me a can of Febreeze. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.

Location. Rooms, staff, smell, quality, cleanliness. This hotel was one of the worst places I have ever stayed at. I was allergic to mold and the room was filthy and smelled like mold. When I stepped on the carpeting, water sloshed up.

Got room, employee's meet my needs and left me alone. Signage, went to wrong hotel didn't realize how to get to this hotel. Pleasant stay, no hassles, no issues, clean, neat worth the stop.
Date of Stay:
August, 2007
New, clean, convenient to Interstate highway, close to restaurants and nightspots. Needs better filtration in the air handler (AC unit) in smoking rooms. Clean, simple, above average for a small town hotel. Phone, parking and Internet access at no charge. Staff was friendly and respectful of privacy.
