Music Row is a commercial musical epicentre situated in south-west downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The area is strategically located along 16th and 17th avenues, serving as the business hub of the city’s prominent entertainment industry. This historic site is a memorial for famous entertainers as well as a currently thriving music marketplace.
The predominant historical site of the area is the famous Studio B, which was part of the “Nashville Sound” and originally referred to as RCA. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Additionally, Music Row boasts Owen Bradley Park and both the Belmont and Vanderbilt University campuses. The once-vacant strip of Demonbreun Street is now a lively entertainment venue offering upscale dining, popular music venues and revitalised retail opportunities for tourists.
The Music Row Roundabout sits at the centre of the neighbourhood and provides for an efficient motorway network around the area. Interstate 40 is conveniently located in the easternmost sector, making for easy access by car. The Music Row area itself is most easily explored on foot.
Music Row originally housed the Country Music Hall of Fame until its relocation to downtown Nashville, eleven blocks away. The building was situated at the corner of Music Square East and Division Street.
