This was absolutely perfect. well equipped with every thing that was needed to enjoy our stay

The hotel was further from the centre of Queenstown than I was led to believe from the brochure and it was in different levels and blocks so was fairly difficult to find your way around. The breakfast was pricey and rather disappointing. The staff were not the most helpful people that I encountered in my travels round New Zealand. Laundry facilities were two washers and driers in a cupboard in the lower car park. Modern rooms and good views.

VERY small rooms, not located near anything useful. It's really an apartment building and the room is an extension bedroom for the main unit. Much better places closer to the city.

Very specious room with superior view, house keeping service need improvement.

The Oak Shores was a really wonderful place to stay. I would definitely reccommend the apartments over the hotel room, if you can afford it, as they have large balconies and wonderful views. It is located just outside Queenstown but has magnificent views of the lake and mountains. If you hire a car it is the perfect place to stay. A bit of a hike into town without. I had a wonderful time.

Apartments were great. Nice and new with excellent views. No internal access to apartment so got wet getting to our room.

Because the accommodation was classed as Apartment and not Hotel, no services were provided, ie. no bed making, no clean towels or replenishment of shampoo (although I did get some when I asked for it). The accommodation seemed new but things like lightbulbs hadn't been replaced. There was inadequate parking for the number of apartments. The staff on the front desk were helpful. The trainee didn't know a great deal but we were provided with other information by another member of staff. The lake views were a bonus.

Needs Small shelf in shower for shampoo/conditioner/soap etc.One towel rail would be useful. Cupboard holding plates/glasses to high for reaching. Enjoyed the location and we were very comfortable thanks.

The hotel standard room is very small. The reception people is not as nice as I expected. However, the good thing was the restaurant manager, a very very nice and helpful lady. We spended very nice time at the dinner seeing a fantastic beautiful landscape from the restaurant's balcony.

Great accomodation at a great price. More than a hotel, having a kitchen gives you the freedom to weat in if you want to.

Whilst the location of the hotel and the room decor were exceptional, I had two issues during my stay - inadequate parking spaces (not clearly stated in the hotel information that parking was not guaranteed) and one of the bedrooms had inadequate wardrobe space, which meant we had to live out of suitcases throughout our stay.

Very nice apartments. Relocated us to another apartment without fuss as ours was a bit smelly for some reason. Views are amazing and apartments are very tastefully decorated.

A nice modern hotel with a great view of the lake and the Remarkables. It is a taxi ride from the town centre but there is a bus stop close by. We had to chase the hotel reception to get our room made up on one night of our 2 night stay.

Poor outdoor maintenance. We could not drive our car out of the garage due to ice. The staff did nothing to clear the driveway in front of the property. Many people were stuck as a result. I would not return to this location or recommend it to anyone.

Excellent bueatiful views , wonderful apartment with great facilities bit of a way out of town so need a car but the views and quietness more than made up for it.

The apartment we stayed in was beautifully appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Beautiful views over Lake Wakatipu to Frankton - it was a shame we couldn't stay longer to really enjoy it. We did have an overheight vehicle with bikes on, which meant we couldn't use the undercover parking, so it was a bit of a trudge with some short stair access to the room that we were in. If you have a lot of bags/gear and an overheight vehicle then you may wish to ask for a room with access not too far from parking. It is not like a motel, where you can drive up to the rooms. The living area was spacious, with fantastic full kitchen facilities, and the bed was very, very comfortable. Our room was particularly quiet too as we were way below the road. The shower was really good, and bathroom well designed too. Only think lacking was a table to put bags on but there was plenty of room on the floor to the side of the living area.

My view on the Oaks Shores is better than my selected criteria lets on. I have rated Cleanliness - Average on the basis that the room was spotless when we arrived, however we stayed 6 nights and the sheets were never changed, the bed was just roughly made. Nor was the bathroom cleaned, only the towels were folded and bin emptied. Hence also the Average rating for Service. We did not use any other hotel facilities, although the rooms were far too hot as a result of the centrally controlled under floor heating and we had to sleep with the balcony door wide open. On a positive note the 'Hotel Room' was really big and we had a view of the lake and mountains which was great for what we paid. Location is brilliant, out of town but you don't need a car. It's a beautiful walk into town by the lake whatever the weather and a cheap taxi back on an evening (approx. 12NZD). I would definitely stay at the Oaks again if the room rates at the time are as reasonable.

Great place to stay, warm, lovely view, lifts to upper rooms, 20minute walk to Queeenstown shopping centre using lake front walking track and main road. Beautiful - would recommend.
