Have you renovated recently?: Our last renovations were in 2008 and all the rooms were repainted and redecorated with new furnishing and some new curtains.
What traveller type is most suited?: Suitable for business people during the week and couples, singles, tourists, and locals at all times.
What transport is available to get around?: There are taxis from town/airport for around $30 one way. There is a shuttle bus to Tutukaka that picks up at the door. Other than that, a car is recommended.
As a family, what are the best things to do?: We have Whangarei Falls, Tutukaka Coast beaches/walkways, Perfect Day cruise to the Poor Knights, Mair Park walkways & playground, Town Basin, Whangarei Museum & Kiwi House.
Do you provide parking?: Free secure off-street parking is available adjacent to the Lodge.
What are your breakfast options?: Breakfast is included in the tariff. It includes cooked breakfast (menu of 3 options) plus toast, muffins, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, tea/coffee. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am - 10:00 am.
What can I do nearby?: Whangarei Falls and AH Reid Kauri walkway are 5 minutes' drive away (free & open all days). Tutukaka Coast beaches and walkways are from 10 minutes away. Poor Knights Diving trips operate from Tutukaka Marina 364 days a year and depart at 8:00am (20 minutes' drive from Lupton Lodge). Whangarei city also has art galleries, gardens, cinemas, theater/conference centre, sports centre (10 minutes' drive from Lupton Lodge). Whangarei Museum, Heritage Park and Kiwi House are 20 minutes' drive. Whangarei Golf Course is 5 minutes' drive and is open 7 days. Town basin Cafes, marina, playground, shops and walkway are 10 minutes' drive.
