The room look exactly like the picture. Bed bugs! We booked 2 rooms for 2 couples, all of us got bitten over night. This hotel looks nice but it has bed bugs. We had 2 rooms for 2 couples. We were all bitten over night! Had so many little red bump on our body. The hotel is not busy at all, surprisingly they didn't have beach towels available when we needed nor additional regular bath towel available.

If you are going for a resort vacation, this is not the place for you. If you are going because you want to go to the Bahamas and are not going to be in your room all day, this is a cheap option. There seemed to be lots of issues with organization, although the staff were all friendly. Anyone looking for this place to live up the the "resort" tag were widly unhappy. Those that wanted a bed to sleep in were underwhelmed, but got what we were looking for. Explore the island if you stay here, don't spend the day at the motel. It really isn't much more than a motel. The rooms are nothing special, there are no views, it is no where near the beach and you won't get much in terms of the "island flair" there. You'll get a bed... wi-fi... cable TV and that's about it. There were some cracks in my shower, loose tile on the floor and the headbord was not attached to anything so rattled against the wall every time you moved in the bed. This is not luxury, but it isn't priced as such so you shouldn't be expecting it.

We were trying to go as economically as we could so we chose to stay at the Island Palm. The location is in the middle of their small downtown area (not near a beach), but is almost dead center in the middle of the island. We took the shuttle to their sister property to use the beach and other amenities (about 10 minute ride). Their sister resort is very nice, but is a timeshare property. We highly recommend renting a car at LEAST one day of your vacation to explore the empty but beautiful beaches on the east end of the island. The hotel's "conceriege" in the lobby can help you rent a car, but all she does is call the sister property for them to do it and she will try to get you to do the timeshare presentation. It was great staying where we did because we only went there to sleep each night. After we woke up, we ate breakfast, got in our car, and headed out to explore. If you need a hotel right on the beach, don't stay here. If you don't mind being limited to their sister resort (which is nice) and the shuttle that runs between them, then this place would be good for you. If you rent a car, this is the ideal hotel because it is cheap but a great location for a clean and comfortable hotel. The staff's friendliness was just so-so. The hotel is about 1 block from where the Junkanoo parade runs if you are there at New Years. It is also across the street from the post office. Nothing else significant nearby. The Port Lucaya area is 10 minutes away. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel and at least 1 taxi available.

Very helpful staff. Inconvenient location. This is a great budget hotel: clean, comfortable and cheap. While it is nowhere near the beach, and at least a 5-10 minute walk from the nearest restaurant, a daily shuttle makes multiple runs to a beautiful sister hotel.

The comfort suites, the discovery sun, and the island palm (grand Bahama island) wonderful experience!! The island seas beach gorgeous!! The coconuts restaurant very charming. Loved every minute of it!! Across from the comfort suites is a restaurant called the pollo something chicken on the grill. It's a fast food Carribean place, very good food. You should promote it. Also, just across from the Wendy's (just down from the island palm) a Bahamian restaurant called Geneva's very good food!! Just wanted to let you know you have a satisfied customer!!

The hotel and its property are well maintained and clean. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. This was my second time staying at this property and both times were good experiences for me. If staying at this hotel you must take advantage of the shuttle that takes you to the Island Seas which is a really nice resort with a beautiful beach that has a wonderful security guard to keep unwanted people off the property which gave me a feeling of being safe while there....

Friendly staff, comfy bed. Broken ice machine no micro fridge or microwave. The hotel met my expectations, there was shuttle service and everyone was as friendly and helpful as can be. I was unable to make calls from my room and had to do so in the lobby, so it felt uncomfortable for long or personal calls but overall it wasn't bad and I would stay there again.

my name is x and on june 19 my husband and i went to freeport bahamas. the trip was great!! we stayed at the island palms hotel, the hotel was nice, people were friendly and helpful. i must say we will be taking this same trip again and hopeful we will be staying at the island palm hotel. i have planned my next years vacation already!!! thanks a bunch...

The property is mid range, with a nice restaurant and pool. Activities desk booked snorkelling and golf for us, and the convenient shuttle ran to shopping, casino, and a great beach (make sure that you catch the sunset one evening!).Rooms are large, and well furnished, even though not fancy.The staff is very nice, but they move at an "island pace", so slow down and relax! Take a refillable water bottle, as the water supply is very good, and you get dehydrated in the sun and wind.

The pool was nice and the rooms were clean. The location was poor. This hotel was worth the money. The rooms were clean and the pool was nice. It was a place to sleep. The prices in the restaurant were outrageous, but aren't they in any hotel? The only downside was the location, there is nothing close by besides fast food and the area is not necessarily the safest feeling. The shuttle to the beach is pretty much useless unless all you want is a beach to go to, it doesn't take you to the main areas where people are going (Port Lucaya); however it does take you to a nice private beach, but then you have to get a cab or take the bus to the main areas. All in all I liked the hotel and would probably stay there again for the price.

I am a frequent visitor of the Island. I spent 4days at this hotel. Staff was very nice and professional. I like the security policy of people signing in before they come to your room. The restaurant needed more options for someone who does not eat pork or beef with their grits. However, the overall stay was pleasant and I will stay there again.

Definitely an okay place to stay if you're not planning on spending very much time at your room. Also, this hotels charges at 15 PER person PER night fee at check in so be sure to calculate that into your travel plans. We were quite surprised. Other than that, they have great shuttles to the beach and the bus stop isn't too far away to go anywhere else.

This was a very nice hotel, staff was great, rooms were clean, good value. Only draw back was it was a distants to the beach etc. but the bus system and taxi's were great. Yes we would come back again.

"The staff was informative, friendly and effficient. The resort is a no frills resort, but very adequate. The restaurant is under construction, but had lots of fun at the Hibiscus Grill. Was able to go lots of places on the public bus, which only cost $1.00 each way. Would definitely stay there again. It's a nice little ""get away"" place."

"This is our fourth time to the Bahamas, and third time at the Island Palm Resort. This was our first fall trip and the weather was great. We got to play golf, the water is warm for snorkelling, and it isn't crowded! We really enjoy the hotel and staff. The property isn't fancy, but it is clean and well maintained, and the staff is wonderful. Grand Bahama is a good value, and the Island Palm is a great value! We will come back in the spring with more family. "

"The hotel was great and the personnel were excellent. Starting with the front desk and on to the maids and secuirity . Each person that attended to us were very attentive, friendly, curteous. It was not our first trip to the Bahamas but we really enjoy this trip more than the other one. It was because of the service that we received fror the personnel in this resort. I wanted to take time to commend you and your staff. They made our trip so enjoyable."
