By train: All trains go to New Street station. Leave the station through the shopping centre and turn left onto New Street then turn right up Bennets Hill. Continue on to Newhall Street for about 5 minutes crossing the main Queensway bypass. Continue up Newhall then turn right on Charlotte Street. Continue past St. Pauls Square which is on your left another 100 metres then turn right onto livery Street. We are 50 metres on the left.By bus: From Digbeth coach station turn left onto Digbeth. Continue to Park Street then turn left at St Martins Circus Queensway and right onto New Street. Continue up New Street for 50 metres then turn right up Bennets Hill. Continue on to Newhall Street for about 5 minutes crossing the main Queensway bypass. Continue up Newhall St then turn right on Charlotte Street. Continue past St Pauls Square which is on your left another 100 metres then turn right onto livery Street. We are just up the street on the left.

Brill accommodationWe were very surprised how helpful and pleasant the staff were and how clean and tidy our accommodation was. We felt very welcome and had a great stay at Hattters Hostel.

Friendly Hostal in good positionI recently stayed at Hatters in BIrmingham for a visit to the University with my daughter. The building and accommodation were basic but very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The position was central and the manager recommended a good local restaurant which was a couple of minutes walk.

Nice HotelThe hotel has only just opened. There are a few minor refurbishments going on inside although if you are looking to stay over in a tidy, clean room around 10 minutes from the city, this is the place!

Hatter's hostel reviewI hadn't realised it was a hostel when I booked. Although the accomodation was very basic it was clean and comfortable. The only down side as far as I was concerned was the clear sound of the television downstairs which woke me at 3.30 in the morning and kept me awake !The breakfast provided was also extremely basic, but at least there was something!

Very clean basic accomodation great value.Like being back at Uni , room very clean, ltd furniture. Kitchen basic but agina clean. Some dispute about deposit for towels but that was sorted. Ideal for being in centre of Birmingham.

friendly staffWe were welcomed by an irish guy who was extremely friendly, there was also an Austrialian gyu and Danish girl who were very nice and made us feel welcome.

Perfect for our uses and would defo use again. There are great plans to add more social rooms too.This is a hostel with high quality rooms (no TV) in a nice part of the City.

Room was reduced from £125 to £40 for a double en-suite with tv, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and breakfast included. When I arrived there was no TV, iron, ironing board or tea and coffee facilities (even though I had called the morning before to double check) and when I went down in the morning to enquire about breakfast was told they do not do it and when I said it was included in my booking confirmation the assistant just shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do about it. Have complained to the area manager but have heard nothing back I will be following this up.

The room I stayed in (room210) had no television set, no wardrobe or anywhere to hang my clothes, no desk or chair. When I compalined to the reception they shrugged their shoulders and offered me a coathanger. I asked where I was supposed to hang the coathanger and they didn't know!

Really disappointing, it was shown as normal price £125 with discount to £40 which seemed a bargain - but it was a hostel! Staff were lovely and the room was ok, but so far from what I'd imagined and quite out of the way for a central location. Partly under rennovation, no windows in our room, just a horrid hostel feel to the place. Good for £40, I pity anyone that paid full price!

Efficient and clean, not the most cosy rooms but plenty of space and good bathroom. Parking is on-street but free overnight. Good for a budget stay.

Me and my workmate stayed at Hatters after our works christmas party. On arrival the gentleman on reception was really friendly and accomodating. The room was a pleasant surprise, with some funky furniture, a comfy bed and large ensuite with really good shower. There is 24 hour security on the main door in the early hours, which made you feel more secure than you normally do in a hostel.The hotel wasn't 100% finished, and aparently there will be tv's etc, but even so I would definitely recommend Hatters to a friend, and will be staying again.
