The place is way over priced for what it is. Don't expect maid service unless you pre-arrange it and pay an extra $10. If you get a pool side room which half the hotel has, don't even think of sleeping before the bar closes due to the music and lights entering the room. The staff are certainly friendly.

I stayed at the Grove Hotel for two nights. On the second night while I was in bed with my partner we heard some snickering from outside our window. Our blinds were closed, the door was closed. I looked through the blinds and saw four men scream like girls and then run away laughing. I saw all of their faces. Two of them were staff members. Unless you are into lecherous staff members spying on you during intimate moments don't go. Disgusting. I'll never be back and will never recommend this place to anyone. I was completely embarrassed and humiliated and it ruined our trip.

Cherry Grove hotel is the only hotel in this part of Fire Island. The best part of the hotel is the pool and the sun deck area. HOwever on my visit. the pool and the deck was closed for the entire day( i was only there one day)for a wedding.On a SATURDAY IN JUNE this is prime summer. Now if the hotel would have communicated this to me before arriving I would have been prepared for the beach, but I was not. They were also not very apologetic and a bit rude when we complained about it.
