Excellent accommodationVery friendly and efficient check in. Rooms very good - the double room superb. Very good meal in hotel restaurant in evening. Breakfast abit disappointing- some parts-black pudding, eggs for example tasted like they had been cooked for awhile otherwise very good stay and we will certainly use the hotel again.

The hotel has recently been updated in the reception, dining and bar area, bu the rooms need to be updated as they are looking rather tired, bu they are clean and the service is very good, apart from when checking out - the receptionist was a bit flustered.

Our wonderful stay at The Grant's HotelThe setting of the Hotel is off the main part of Harrogate making it very quiet but only a few minutes away to the town's shops and pubs. Having it's own car park was an added bonus. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and signing in was efficient and quick. Our room was of a very high quality and extremely comfortable and quiet. In the evening we had a meal in the restaurant with our son and his girlfriend and we are all agreed it was a very creative menu, well presented and of a very high quality. Dining room and bar staff were hard working well dressed, helpful, friendly and efficient. At the end of the meal the chef came out to talk to us which we really appreciated.

Not 'Good Hotel Guide' Standard.Very disapointed with quality of bedroom. Some rooms need extensive refurfishment - shower nearly falling off wall & dated decor.

Satisfaction granted!Staff were mostly friendly, and helpful. Breakfast staff were exceptional! My husband didn't make it down to breakfast, so I was kindly asked if he'd like some coffee and was given a cafetiere to take back to our room! I was also delighted to discover our double room was actually a superior, with a huge four poster bed!! Brilliant!

Very pleasantly suprisedWe were delighted to find both hotel and service beyond our expectations and would certainly recommend a stay at this modern hotel - nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the food is delicious.

Central but quiet locationStaff all very pleasant and obliging. Breakfast very good and prompt. Stayed in single room which looked a bit dated but very clean (the rooms featured in the publicity shots tend to be the doubles which have been recently upgraded. Hotel very quiet so got good night's sleep. No complaints at all. Was attending conference at the nearby Majestic Hotel and having stayed there previously I would say the overall experience at Grants was significantly better. Also price I paid through laterooms was a bargain.

Silver wedding stayWe really enjoyed our stay at Grants. The Hotel had been recommended to us by our daughter. The bedroom was very clean and the size of the bed was great, especially as the weather was very warm. Everything was to a very high standard. Thank you.

Excellent hotel in central HarrogateThe position of Grants Hotel is perfect - central, yet quiet - created out of an old terraced row of houses. All staff very friendly and keen to please. Food excellent and all cooked fresh, to order. Chef came to ask if my wife had ordered the vegetarian risotto because she was vegetarian, and if it was OK to add pancetta - it was delicious. Although the dining room is in basement of hotel, it is very light, modern and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Weekend retreatSituated near centre of Harrogate but in a quiet road off the main road. Room decor and standard a bit jaded but everything else fine. Food was excellent and a reasonable price for what you get. Staff very friendly. Car park is big enough bit tight to get in and out: glad I didn't have a big car! There was a wedding on the Saturday night but the function room was far enough away not to cause any disturbance.Good town and hotel for a weekend.

Review of Grant's Hotel, HarrogateThe room was a good size for a single room and there was a comfortable double bed. The hotel has been refurbished since my last visit and I liked the new colour schemes and furnishings. The shower was rather small and the showerhead was fixed but it was as advertised. The hairdryer was not fixed to the drawer which was a nice sign of trust! The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast had a good range of hot and cold food and bed and breakfast was excellent value for money. The dinner menu had an interesting range of dishes with some unusual combinations of flavours. However I did not enjoy the rather loud background music during both dinner and breakfast. The hotel is well situated on a quiet side-street near the centre of Harrogate and I would definitely stay there again.

In need of renovation!I chose to stay at this hotel as I was looking for a place in central Harrogate that had gym facilities better than the normal 'hotel fare' of a small room with a treadmill and rowing machine. On both scores it hit the target. For a '3 star' hotel the reception area, bar and restaurant were modern with a feeling of a 'boutique hotel' that was pleasantly surprising however the rooms were very dated and had shocking colour combinations. Everywhere was very clean and tidy, with the exception of a few areas of the corridors that had some areas of peeling wall paper which was more 'state-of-repair' than cleanliness. If the proprietors update all the rooms then this would have been a very pleasant place to stay!! Car park very small and tight so take care if you have a nice car. The hotel's arrangement with a local health club / gym is also a nice touch offering facilities free-of-charge to residents. Would I stay again? No. Would I recommend this hotel? I'm afraid not.

A newly fitted bathroom lacking a few finishes, e.g. soap dish and shelf in shower, shelf at wash hand basin. Also new bedroom - one drawer is not enough. Bed so low that it is difficult to get in and out, and will become more difficult as we age.Food and restaurant service were outstanding.

Ideal location within easy walking distance of town centre. Friendly staff, particularly at breakfast. Room comfortable and had everything we needed. No problem parking - a pleasant surprise given how close to town centre we were.
