Cheap price for a good hotel.

The room was large, and the hotel was in a great location! The bathroom was not very clean, there was used soap in the shower and the floors were really dirty.

I am pretty sure that this is not the location of the old University Inn which I believe was across the street. Nothing wrong with this motel! Front desk was very accommodating and the room was very clean. Prices vary depending on day of the week and university activities. It is the same all over Ames. Weekends are more and especially football dates. Its a function of supply and demand! Location is easy to find just south of Lincoln Way on Duff Ave.

It was very clean. I asked for a wake up call & did not receive it! Overall the hotel was very good. But I did get upset because I did ask for a wake up call from the front desk & I did not receive it. My son had a college interview & we needed to be at Iowa State at a certain time, it was a good thing he set his phone to wake us up.

This was the old University Inn which I've heard horror stories about - no hot water, no water, etc. from family that had stayed there before. The room was clean. Found out how much I'd "overpaid" as in our rush to get checked in I signed the wrong CC statement. We paid $ but the one I signed was for $ Ouch. Nothing in the way of amenities to support that price in my opinion. We've stayed in other hotels in Ames with breakfast/pool/etc. for less.

This is a fine hotel for anyone looking to be close to campus at a reasonable rate. The room was accomodating and the staff friendly. We had no complaints. There is a breakfast, but we did not see it until we were leaving. We were not told upon check-in a breakfast would be available.

Were able to check in late from having a long drive there. For the night that we stayed the only thing more we might have used would be a mini fridge. This was far better than my last motel stay, it felt much safer and cleaner.
