Location is about perfect for the bell and drum towers, moslem quarter, city wall, and bus out to great goose pagoda. Reception was helpful, (the early check in was a great blessing after the overnight from Beijing!) and Victoria spoke fine English and helped resolve a driver "issue." The price is excellent, and breakfast was fine, although no juice was included. Credit card machine was unavailable, so we had to use cash - not a huge deal. The rooms were average, but you're not there for the room, right? I was very pleased with it, and would gladly stay there next time we're in Xi'an!

First off, I read many reviews about this hotel from this site and others (trip advisor). I wrote down tips as well, like how to get to the hotel (the airport bus that stops at the Melody Hotel, and walk about 5 minutes to get to the City Hotel..takes 45 minutes to get there from the airport). The location is great! Short walk to the twoers (drum and bell). The Muslim District is a short walk....MacDonalds and starbucks across the road. We got to the hotel at 11:45 am...I had doubts that we would be able to check in, but they checked us into our room!! The receptionist spoke english, no problems there. We got our room right away and a porter took all our bags up (we stayed on the 5th floor). The room was clean, and we stayed for 4 nights and it was cleaned daily. I was afraid of a room reaking of smoke, but not ours (514 BTW). It was quiet, we didnt hear any of the noises around...and it is a big city with lots going on!

This hotel is in the perfect location, right near the centre of town. Close to the south gate to get on the old city walls for bike riding, close to the bell tower and drum tower and islamic section - great food there. Staff all speak english very well and the business centre in the lobby can organise flights, taxis and tours at very reasonable prices

Decent hotel with excellent location right next to Bell Tower. There is also a small 24 hour market next door. This hotel is in need of renovation, but since it is so hard finding a hotel in China that won't make one pull their hair out, I would willingly return here.

The location is excellent, walk to Bell Tower, Drum Tower, City wall & South gate, 2 minutes walk from the airport bus, a 24 hour supermarket is next door. The room is good but old bathroom. Nice staff but speak little English

The hotel hasn't been updated in a few years, but was comfortable enough. The room was quite basic, but clean. The hotel is <5 minutes away from the South gate of the city wall, the Bell tower and the Drum tower.
