The Farthings is a charming Victorian guest house built in 1895, and situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on the south side of the city. The historic city walls are only 5 minutes walk away, and all York's major attractions and theatres can be easily reached on foot. Each room has been individually decorated and furnished to match its character. Some rooms have en-suite shower and toilet and some are suitable for small families. All rooms are centrally heated with tea coffee making facilities and clock radios. All rooms are tastefully furnished, providing comfort and cleanliness. The delicious quality breakfast is served in the ground floor dining room and caters for all tastes including full English, continental and vegetarian options. There is free on street parking outside with a permit.

What are your breakfast options?: We serve a full English breakfast, Continental or vegetarian breakfast and this is included in the price of the room. It is served from 8:00am - 9:00am.
What transport is available to get around?: There are local buses, taxis, trains, etc., that can take you in and out of town. There are also organised tour buses that take you around York and also out into the countryside, etc.
What can I do nearby?: We are 10 minutes' walk to the centre of York and all the city attractions (The Yorvik Centre, York Minster, The Railway Museum, The Castle Museum, Cliffords Tower and many more).
Do you have internet?: We have free Wi-Fi internet access available throughout the building. This includes the bedrooms.
Do you provide parking?: We provide free on-street parking with a permit outside the guest house. There are also many public car parks in the centre of York, if you want to drive in, that are payable by the hour.
