Nothing. Everything. When we walked in the door the of the hotel it smelled. We got to our room and there was a hornet flying around the room. When we went to open the window you could not see through it because it was too dirty.

The moment I opened the door the smell was terrible. The carpet was rotten, the walls, doors, and windows were dirty, the room smelled so bad I slept with the sliding door open, the only thing that was good was that I was on the first floor, so I could open and keep open the door. Flat pillows, 2 towels for 2 adults. The toliet didn't flush correctly, the furniture had burn marks all over the tops. Disgusting!!

We had a floor level room with two double beds. The room had more than enough space and the sleeping area was clean, and the beds were comfortable. However, there were a lot of 'little' things that made the stay less than desirable. The bathroom was mediocre at best; low water pressure, stains in the shower, a slow drip in shower, and a cracked toilet were present. There was no television guide available, the air conditioner had been turned off at the circuit breaker (which we figured out how to fix ourselves). The internet connection was very slow, and the continental breakfast was terrible: still frozen muffins and danishes, several empty containers, very small cereal bowls, and low quantity of all items in general. The eating area itself was very nice.

not very professional/personable towards out-of-towners. Upon inspecting the room we were given on check-in, we had to ask for another room, as the 1st one assigned to us had a very fowl odour. I found the linen on the bed to be so disguisting, that I had to put a towel on my pillow before I would even lay my head on it, and I put another towel on top of the sheet, before I laid down. The top blanket was full of cigarette holes.....absolutely terrible! The whole Lodge could use some freshening up...very dirty looking.

Location, affordability. Tired, noisy, need of major renovation. It serviced our needs fine with no major problems. Nothing surprising for what was expected from a lower end accommodation. Clean, not immaculate, old and tired but not rundown. Continental breakfast poor. Staff very nice. Location great, price very affordable.

I only chose this hotel because everything else near Mt. Holyoke was sold out. I was very skeptical before arriving, and prepared to find somewhere else even 30-45 minutes away. But the room wasn't bad at all; it's just an older property. And the staff was so friendly, accomodating and efficient that they more than made up for any shortcomings. For instance, there was a problem with the heating and I had to head out. By the time I came back, the room temperature was perfectly comfortable. I'm a woman who often travels alone for business and usually lodge at Sheraton or Marriott properties. This is no Sheraton. But they don't charge Sheraton prices either. And it was comfortable and secure. I felt safe. And I'd definitely stay again when visiting the school.

We checked out 2 rooms before cancelling our stay. Both were old, bare & smelled of disinfectant. The lady at the desk was very understanding but, unless you are a smoker or desperate, I would avoid this lodging. Can't really rate the bed quality or other factors since we opted to leave & find another place. The pool looked good & appeared clean.

The front desk was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and safe, the location was quiet and close to town, next door to two restaurants, a gas station, ATM machine, and two major highways which made travel quite easy. The hotel provided us with a local pizza place so that we were able to order pizza delivered right to our door. We enjoyed fresh coffee and a complementary fruit and pastry in the morning before we went out for breakfast at a restaurant directly around the corner. After breakfast, we were able to fill up our car next door at the gas station and drive to West Springfield within five miles. The drive to West Springfield was easy and pleasant, and we plan to go back to the Econo Lodge next year.
