The city is also a mecca for golfers and is home to the prestigious Lake Buena Vista Golf Course.
Despite being the official home of Walt Disney Resort, accommodation options in Lake Buena Vista are not as popular as Disney’s on-site resorts in the Bay Lake area that provide easy access to Orlando’s theme parks. The easiest way to reach Lake Buena Vista attractions like the golf course and outlet malls is by car, with plenty of parking available on-site.
While originally the city’s central lagoon was called Blake Lake, it was renamed when Disney acquired the municipality. The company rechristened it as Buena Vista, as a nod to the company’s Californian HQ located on Buena Vista Street. In Spanish, the phrase translates to "good view."
