The flagship property of the Wynn Resorts chain is this luxury hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip, Nevada. It is considered one of the finest hotels in the world, holding more Forbes five-star awards than any other resort and casino in the world, across each and every category.
Wynn Las Vegas is situated adjacent to its sister resort Encore Las Vegas and in total they boast 4,750 rooms and stand as one of the world’s largest hotels. In addition to its luxurious rooms and casino, Wynn Las Vegas includes numerous restaurants serving cuisine from across the globe, including the Michelin-star Wing Lei restaurant, as well as nightclubs and theatres where big-name artists perform. High-end designers including Christian Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Rolex are found within Wynn Esplanade shopping complex, while it is the first resort to include a luxury car dealership, Penske-Wynn Ferrari-Maserati. Unlike other hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip which have outdoor attractions to draw punters in, Wynn Las Vegas was designed with the attractions on its inside, including a huge curtain waterfall that cascades into its “Lake of Dreams”. Wynn Las Vegas is home to the only golf course on the Las Vegas Strip, the Wynn Golf and Country Club, as well as the opulent Tower Suites which feature private driveways with Rolls-Royce cars, koi ponds and private pools. Owner Steve Wynn recently announced the development of a new project called Wynn Paradise Park that will include 1,000 rooms and a water sports lagoon over 35 acres.
Wynn Las Vegas can be accessed along the double-decker Deuce bus which plies the strip 24 hours a day, or the Las Vegas Strip & Downtown Express that connects the two areas of the city. There’s also an elevated monorail that operates parallel to the Strip and avoids some of the traffic congestion down below.
Wynn Las Vegas was first revealed as a building project in 2001 on the site of the old Desert Inn, initially being called “Le Rêve”, translating as “the dream”, which is the name of a Picasso painting owned by Steve Wynn. At a total cost of $2.7 billion, it was the largest privately-funded construction project in the United States and finally opened its doors in 2005 with the new name of Wynn Las Vegas.
