The 365-metre-long Pismo Pier was rebuilt to its current length after it was hit by a storm in 1983. The wooden pier offers fishing and is a great vantage point for soaking up the stunning Pismo Beach landscapes.
It’s also one of the Central Coast’s most popular surfing locations, lit at night to allow surfers to catch a wave at all hours. Families can be seen building sandcastles, watching seagulls and attending one of the special events held near the pier.
A visit to Pismo Pier can easily be combined with a trip to nearby attractions, such as the Monarch Butterfly Grove, Dinosaur Caves Park and Margo Dodd Park. When hunger strikes, visit the waterfront restaurant Wooly’s for American classics for Splash Cafe Pismo Beach to sample the renowned clam chowder.
