About Province Of Seville

The Province of Seville is nestled in western Andalusia in southern Spain. The provincial capital, Seville, draws millions of visitors each year with its glorious architecture, riverside nightlife and typical Andalusian ambience. In addition to the bustling city of Seville, the province is home to Sierra Norte de Sevilla Natural Park and shares Parque Nacional de Doñana with neighbouring Huelva Province.

This region of Andalusia has a warm Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and temperate winters. The thriving city of Seville is the most tempting of all the provincial gems. Seville has everything a traveller could ask for. Located on the banks of the River Guadalquivir, a boat trip is an ideal way to get to know the city. View the Spanish Renaissance style minaret tower La Giralda and Torre del Oro while gliding along the river. Stroll ancient cobbled streets discovering Seville Cathedral, Museum of Flamenco Dance, Alcázar of Seville and its UNESCO heritage treasures. Sample local delicacies in hidden tapas bars, or walk across the bridge to Triana to see authentic flamenco performances in its birthplace. Lively nightlife can be enjoyed on Calle Betis, a vibrant riverside location filled with stylish bars and restaurants. Alternatively, visitors wishing to explore the natural beauty of the province can head for one of the two national parks. To the south, Parque Nacional de Doñana is a vast nature reserve with a wetland ecosystem. It’s the ideal place to discover the rare Iberian Lynx and myriad migratory birds. Visitors wishing to explore the “Pueblos Blancos” or white villages of Andalusia should drive north to experience all the natural beauty this province offers.

Seville has a dedicated airport which services the city. It is located 10.5 kilometres away. It is also easy to reach Seville by car from Jerez, Malaga and Gibraltar airports. The Sevilla Santa Justa Train Station is the third busiest in Spain. Located to the east of the city centre, it provides rail travel via the AVE and RENFE trains to other cities and towns in Andalusia, and to the Spanish capital, Madrid. It is also possible to get around Seville city and province via bus, tram, taxi or Uber.

The province of Seville has an intriguing history, and the region a strong cultural identity. Seville is the area of flamenco dance, bullfighting and Hispano-Moorish architecture. Visitors gravitate towards the city of Seville, although the northern area of the province is peppered with traditional white villages and mountainous natural beauty.
