With beautiful landscapes and fabulous beaches, Costa del Sol is situated to the south of Málaga. The region is comprised of charming coastal towns that offer breathtaking views of the Alboran Sea and the surrounding mountains.

The sunny Andalusian shoreline region is known primarily for its beaches. One of the most famous of these is Playa El Bajondillo, while Playa Real de Zaragoza offers a quieter alternative.

Want to practice your swing? Costa del Sol is home to a thriving golf scene with plenty of places to tee off. Alcaidesa Links, for example, lets golfers play while admiring the Rock of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.

Costa del Sol is full of amazing restaurants, many specialising in traditional Andalusian cuisine. Make sure to try salmorejo, which is a cold puree of bread and tomato and pescaito frito that combines fried fish with fresh lemon.

Getting there

From Málaga, the journey to Costa del Sol takes less than two hours. Driving is the most convenient way to get around, as a major highway continues throughout the region, offering beautiful views and plenty of places to turn off and explore coastal towns.
