The Tank Museum gets history enthusiasts up close with more than 300 military vehicles used to defend the United Kingdom and support British military campaigns. As you explore the museum, you can learn about the history of tanks and the role they've played during conflicts, such as World War I.
The museum is spread across six halls and is filled with tanks that have seen combat in major wars around the world. Most vehicles are accompanied by informative displays offering first-hand accounts of the soldiers who fought in them.
Highlights include Little Willie, a prototype tank developed by the British Army in 1915. The heavy-duty German Tiger tank played a central role in World War II, while the next-generation Challenger 2 is currently the main battle tank used by the British Army. Visit the gift store to browse t-shirts, books and tank-inspired souvenirs or enjoy a meal in the on-site cafe.
