Start your journey in Quebec City's characterful Old Town. It's laced with cobblestone streets and is home to some of North America’s oldest buildings. From sidewalk cafes to beautifully manicured gardens, the area is brimming with European charm.

Perched high above the Old Town, Le Chateau Frontenac is one of the world's most photographed hotels. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, you can stroll around the magnificent lobby and splurge at the on-site restaurant, 1608 Wine & Cheese Bar.

Battlefields Park is Quebec City's signature green space, home to the Plains of Abraham where the British and the French infamously clashed in 1759. You can run your hands over old cannons, visit the site where the Canadian national anthem was first sung or enjoy a picnic on the grass.

Venture beyond the Old Town and you'll find a handful of trendy neighbourhoods. St-Roch is home to some of the city's best restaurants, including the elegant Cafe du Clocher Penche. Nearby St-Jean Baptiste harbours a myriad of luxury boutiques, with everything from perfume ateliers to designer clothing.

Getting around

Quebec City is well-serviced by a network of local buses that run to most major sites and attractions. Bicycles are a great way to get around, with plenty of bike paths crisscrossing the city. The drive to Montreal takes around three hours, with regional buses also making the trip. Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport is a 30-minute drive out of town.
