Marketed as the most magical place on earth, Disneyland Resort immerses you in a world of castles, princesses and colourful characters. The iconic resort has been welcoming guests since 1955 and is packed with rides and attractions. Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park is a good option for older kids, with stomach-flipping thrill rides like the GhostRider wooden roller coaster and the Timber Mountain Log Rider flume.
Golden sand, rolling waves and a signature pier make Huntington Beach one of the top stretches of sand in Southern California. Stop by the surfing museum to learn about the town’s local history and stay after dark to watch the beach light up with bonfires.
Set around a picturesque harbour, Newport Beach is a stomping ground for OC glitterati. Enjoy a meal at the famous lobster shack and take a stroll along Newport Pier. Laguna Beach is another iconic stretch of sand, with crystal-clear water and plenty of chic cafes, galleries and boutiques to visit.
Escape the crowds and discover untouched beaches and scenic woodland trails at Crystal Cove State Park. Other activities include tide pooling, fishing and diving. Just south of San Clemente is San Onofre State Beach, where you can explore clifftop walking trails and watch surfers paddle out to the notorious Trestles break.
Getting around Orange County
Orange County is located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Anaheim is a one-hour drive from Downtown Los Angeles and 1.5 hours from Los Angeles International Airport. Rental cars are the easiest and most flexible way to explore Orange County at your own pace while local buses also run throughout the county.
