Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal is a jumping point to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, a quintet of jungle islands fringed by golden sand and crystalline water. You can bask on the beach, snorkel in colourful coral reefs and devour freshly-caught seafood at barbecue stalls. Sign up for a guided tour or catch one of the public speed boats. The trip takes around 20 minutes.
Speed boats also whisk passengers to Pulau Labuan, a popular destination for duty-free shopping. If you don't want to make the trip, you can shop for souvenirs at colourful handicraft stalls scattered along the Jesselton Point Waterfront.
The Jesselton Point Waterfront is also one of Kota Kinabalu's most popular drinking and dining destinations. Take your pick of breezy waterfront cafes and restaurants strung along the boardwalk, then save your appetite for local Sabah specialties like pork noodles, spicy laksa and banana leaf rice.
Getting there
Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal is in Kota Kinabalu’s city centre, a 10-minute walk from Jalan Gaya and 20 minutes from the Night Food Market. Local buses and taxis stop outside the ferry terminal.
