About Bad Fuessing

Located on the west bank of the Inn River, Bad Füssing is a small Bavarian town along Germany’s border with Austria. It is renowned for its healing waters and modern thermal bathing complex, while it’s also associated with an annual pilgrimage in honour of Saint Leonard.

Things to do in Bad Fuessing

Spend a day relaxing in the thermal baths of Europa Therme Bad Füssing, which comprises both indoor and outdoor pools that range in temperature from 27 to 40 degrees Celsius. You can sweat it out in one of the steam grottoes or experience the Finnish infusion sauna that is heated to 90 degrees Celsius. A range of therapeutic treatments are also available at the Vital Massage Studio.

In the centre of Bad Füssing is the Bernstein Museum, which details the extraction and processing of amber and offers a range of amber jewellery for sale. It is located on the edge of Freizeit Park, a picturesque green space with leafy walking trails, landscaped flower beds and picnic gazebos. Kids can let loose in the playground while parents relax on one of the benches overlooking the central lake.

A short drive from Bad Füssing is the Leonhardimuseum, which is dedicated to Saint Leonhard. As the patron saint of highland farmers, he has been venerated in the region since the Middle Ages. The museum houses more than 200 votive and sacrificial objects associated with the annual Leonhardi pilgrimage. During the event, traditionally dressed women ride in horse-drawn carriages between Bad Tölz andKalvarienberg.
