The San Jose McEnery Convention Center is about 51,000 square metres and stands out as one of Silicon Valley’s most popular for conferences, conventions, exhibitions and special events. Along with the Facebook F8 conference and Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, the convention centre routinely hosts automotive shows and speeches by political nominees.
The 1,122-seat California Theatre at the convention centre is one of the best-preserved examples of 1920s-era theatres in the United States. It sits alongside the City National Civic, which has been graced by music legends, including Frank Sinatra, The Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan. You can also visit the Montgomery Theater for performing arts shows.
Don’t miss the interactive “Idea Tree” public art installation at the front of the convention centre. The sprawling exhibition halls cover 13,285 square metres, while the centre’s ballrooms are ideal for galas, banquets and formal ceremonies. The convention centre is also surrounded by noteworthy sights, including The Tech Museum of Innovation and San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art.
