Lincoln City is a laid-back beach resort on the rugged Oregon Coast. Its long sandy beach attracts a constant stream of sunseekers. Spend your time relaxing on the sand, exploring the historic district and browsing local art galleries.
Things to do
Lincoln City is fringed by a 10-kilometre stretch of golden sand. On a sunny day it's a great place to top up your tan, go beachcombing for shells, peer into tide pools and build sandcastles. Keep an eye out for multicoloured Oregon glass floats, which are released into the water every year from October to May.
Located in Lincoln City's Historic Taft District, the Jennifer Sears Glass Art Studio is filled with handmade treasures. In addition to browsing the displays, you can learn more about the art of glassblowing. Check out the daily schedule for live demonstrations, workshops and lessons.
The North Lincoln Historical Museum offers a huge collection of artefacts, including Native American basketry, pioneer antiques and farming machinery. It also showcases a stunning collection of Oregon glass floats once used by Japanese fishermen.
For a dose of retail therapy, head to the Lincoln City Outlets. A premier shopping destination on the Oregon Coast, the open-air mall features over 40 specialty stores that lure shoppers in with heavy discounts.
Downtown Lincoln City is easy to get around on foot, especially if you're exploring the pedestrian-friendly Historic Taft District. The city is also serviced by a network of buses that run throughout Lincoln County, but renting a car offers more flexibility.
