About Cape Tribulation

Escape the rest of the world at Cape Tribulation, a coastal area surrounded by lush rainforests with exciting adventure tours, stunning beaches and regular cassowary and crocodile spotting. It’s located just north of the Daintree River and lures you in with its collection of fine-dining restaurants and laid-back vibes.

Things to do in Cape Tribulation

It’s impossible to visit Cape Tribulation and not experience the Daintree Rainforest, whether you’re simply driving past the prehistoric trees, embarking on a nature walk or ziplining from tree to tree on the thrilling Jungle Surfing Canopy Tour. You can also join an after-dark walking tour that reveals some of the unique nocturnal animals that populate the forest, such as tree kangaroos and bandicoots.

Are you interested in seeing the Great Barrier Reef? Ocean Rafting is one of only two tour operators with access to the pristine reefs off Cape Tribulation’s coastline. Head out on a day trip to experience some of the most vibrant corals in the Great Barrier Reef and the turquoise water filled with unique marine life, such as blacktip reef sharks, octopuses and clownfish.

When hunger strikes, tick off some of Cape Tribulation’s iconic eateries, including WHET Cafe Bar Restaurant and Cinema, which serves organic sweet treats and delicious Spanish mackerel tacos. Turtle Rock Cafe is perfect for a burger, fish and chips or chicken fingers, while Daintree Ice Cream Company serves unique flavours of ice cream sourced from fresh fruit on the property.

Of course, don’t forget to see the actual Cape Tribulation, which features panoramic Coral Sea views and steps that lead down to a secluded beach where the dense rainforest meets golden sands. Afterwards, chill out at PK’s Jungle Village with a cold beer and a round of pool.
