The location is great - close enough to walk to centre but not in the hustle and bustle. The walk to the centre is beautiful. Decor is unique. Breakfast on veranda is a treat. The hotel staff is helpful, friendly and accommodating.

Hotel des Alpes is a lovely hotel a short walk from the train station and situated near wonderful shopping and good choice of restaurants. It has its own restaurant and its for a breakfast room as well, meals very good. The water and bridge view from the hotel is delightful. All associates of the hotel were so professional and personable, from the reception to the restaurant wait staff to the cleaning people, all wonderful! Excellent continental breakfast, very friendly and welcoming staff, rooms large and clean. Excellent central location within the old town of Lucerne. It is definitely worth spending a bit extra for a view of Chapel Bridge and the river!
