About Sommarøy

Sommaroy is a remote fishing village surrounded by sandy beaches and pebble-strewn bays. Krinta is one of the most beautiful beaches, with dazzling white sand and turquoise water reminiscent of the Caribbean. While the water isn’t warm, it’s perfect for a quick dip. Boats depart from the harbour and whisk you to neighbouring Tussøy Island. Spend the day beachcombing and exploring the windswept coastal paths. After a day on Tussøy Island, return to Sommaroy for a meal at the cosy local restaurant. Herring is a local specialty in Sommaroy, with fish caught in the village exported to countries around the world.
