To splurge a bit I decided to try one night at the amazing Waldorf Astoria Chicago. It's located close to the Miracle Mile, and I think it even has shops on-site that are technically part of the high-end Miracle Mile shopping mecca. As I only spent one night at the hotel, I did not get a chance to try their restaurant, spa or other services on site but everything seemed very high class and would have been great to try. Service from the front desk was very professional and pleasant, and as a Gold Honors member I received a room upgrade which was very much appreciated. I ended up in a fairly large suite with a separate living room area, including a fireplace, and a nice bedroom. There was also a huge bathroom, with a tub and separate shower. Absolutely gorgeous. The room also included a very extensive mini-bar (probably the best I've ever seen) as part of a small kitchen. The items in the mini bar very expensive, but the selection was impressive - with various snacks and beverages on offer. My view from the room was okay - a bit ruined by the fact that there was construction on the building across the street. The bed was great. Very pleasant. The room also had a couple of TVs of high quality, with lots of channels in HD. WiFi worked fine. Overall a very pleasant stay! It's a relatively expensive hotel, compared to other Chicago hotels, but reasonable considering how luxurious it is and how much you get for your money. Service from all staff was excellent. Highly recommended!
