    Verified Stay

    Wonderful Service

Just your standard upscale hotel property, but nothing outstanding about it. The room was comfortable, large for Manhattan, but plain. The mini bar was fully stocked, but there is no space for your own snacks or water bottles. However, it is possible to request a refrigerator for your room free of charge it is nice to have that as an option, but too much of a hassle to have to ask. We stayed in an Empire State View Suite and it was truly wonderful. A proper, full sized one bedroom suite, that was spacious for a normal hotel let alone in the middle of NYC. A beautiful view of the Empire State and the city to the south. Staff were courteous, professional and very responsive - regularly asking us if we needed anything or there was anything they could do to make our experience better. Although the hotel has about six elevators, waiting for them took too long. It was not fun trying to go out in the morning when the elevators were always packed. Another thing that I disliked about this hotel was the reception area. It was too small, cramped, and with very few seating available. Checkout time and check-in times were chaotic. Sure, you will not spend a lot of time in the reception area, but the lack of space and crowding was not what I expected from a Westin, and after checking-out, waiting for our transportation to the airport was quite uncomfortable. On the other hand, this hotel is in an excellent location. With several metro lines serving Grand Station, it is easy to get everywhere while avoiding the Times Square crowds. The CVS nearby is a convenient place to buy snacks and other personal items you may need, and the Sandwicherie outside of the hotel is adequate for breakfast or a quick bite.
