The Taj Chandigarh is a good standard business hotel. Good size rooms with a spacious comfortable bed, quiet air con and plenty of complimentary water. Curtains didn't quite close but not an issue. Rooftop pool is nice - staff there are really helpful and friendly. Great Indian restaurant with good ambiance. Concierge staff was lacking a little on local knowledge (told me I could go somewhere on a Sunday yet it was shut and sent me to the post office yet that was shut too on 2nd Saturday in the month) and weren't particularly forthcoming with good value city tours. Even popping to the hotel down the road they charged a 'special price' of Rs100 for a banger to travel 500m (had I known I would have walked). Definitely is the best option in Chandigarh! Don't expect anything spectacular though I think it's not part of the Taj hotel group. To start off with the breakfast buffet had a poor selection. The omelet station was manned by a poor quality chef. Being in north India they preferred serving poor tasting South Indian option.
