Spent 6 days at the resort in a beach side fale. The resort is very beautiful in mature tropical gardens, with plenty of space. The coastal aspect beside a huge lagoon and white sandy beaches was idyllic. The pool and bar are lovely, as the staff is warm, relaxed and gentle. The only let down was the quality of food, which was very underwhelming. The menu is limited and on most night, around 25-50% of the menu was not available. Its a carbohydrates and protein rich selection, almost nothing for vegetarians. Had we stayed longer we would have explored the resort next door for variety and hopefully better quality. The food is best described as home cooking. The wine selection is modest but reasonably priced. Cocktails are generous and strong. We sampled the spa, which is perfectly located next to the lagoon, the sound of waves crashing in the distance and sea breezes. The treatments are fairly standard and of average quality. Samoa itself was a delight, much cleaner and more authentic than Fiji. The Fia Fia dance night was fun, accessible and avoided the usual compulsory tourist participation, which was pitched just right. We’d definitely return, but would bring more snacks with us.
