A luxury resort located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the Venetian offers all-suite accommodations, exquisite restaurants, world-class entertainment, and shopping. Their elegant suites range in size from 650 to 720-square-feet that are nearly double the size of the average Las Vegas hotel room. The vibe: Over-the-top Italian elegance, abounding amore, luxury and service reign supreme What we love: At The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, the world is at your belly. You can eat like a paesano at restaurants operated by Buddy Valastro and Wolfgang Puck - and drink like one too because wine is plentiful. Or savor other cuisines including South American fare from Lorena Garcia. All of the rooms in The Venetian are suites. Our fave things about The Venetian's suites: the foyers (we just love saying that word), sunken living rooms and marble bathrooms with large Roman tubs (the true thrones of emperors). Insider tips: Speaking of The Venetian's "spread out-ness," if you want to bypass the casino to get to the Grand Canal Shoppes, you can enter right off Las Vegas Boulevard. There's access through a hallway that passes by the Rockhouse bar, Buddy V's and Carlo's Bakery, where you should stop and get a pastry. Now there are more outstanding restaurants in The Venetian than fingers on our hands, but we're singling out Bouchon because you might not see it while wandering around the casino floor. It's located in the resort's exclusive Venezia Tower. You'll have to take the elevator near the front desk to the 10th floor. When you get off, you'll see an opulent lobby in one direction and Bouchon's little known entrance in the other. Good to know: Although the plaza in front of The Venetian is beautiful, reminiscent of St. Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace, pay attention to vehicles coming in and out of the resort via the Strip. The Venetian's outside is just as gorgeous as its interior, so naturally your gnat-like attention span is going to be focused on all of the great art and decor that surround the resort's exterior and not the busy boulevard that lies mere steps away. Keep your heads up people, that's all we're sayin'. If you like pools (it's 100+ degrees here, so we're going to make that assumption), you're going to love The Venetian and The Palazzo. There are 10 pools between the two properties, so there's plenty of opportunity for you to get down on some "Marco Polo." Just be sure to keep your flip-flops on deck (see what we did there?), because remember that weather we mentioned earlier? If you're not prepared, that heat will burn your little footsies and put a damper on your pool hoppin' plans STAT.
Sporting magnificent modern architecture and top-tier dining, entertainment, pool and spa options, ARIA stands tall as a hip resort in the heart of the Strip. The vibe: Modern, gleaming and chic. Luxury on all levels What we love: ARIA Las Vegas opened at the end of 2009 and it still has that new car smell. The rooms are a tech lover's dream, featuring the latest gadgetry (keyless locks, personalized automation, etc.). Each room includes an in-room tablet where you'll have one-touch control of lighting, temperature, draperies, music, in-room dining and more. Simply put, you're the master of your domain at ARIA Las Vegas. Open year-round, the pool area at ARIA is like something out of the Garden of Eden. Three ellipse-shaped pools are spread across a palm tree-laden deck. Insider tips: Be an art lover. ARIA's got an impressive fine art collection, and you don't have to pay a museum admission cost to view it. Several pieces dot the property's indoor and outdoor public spaces. So spend the day exploring, it's totally worth it. Spend an afternoon at ARIA's Spa & Salon. There are some seriously unique amenities in here including a Shio salt room (its salt-infused air improves both your breathing and skin) and Ganbanyoku heated stone beds, which are unbelievably soothing to your muscles. Good to know: There isn't a bad room in the house. Since the price point is elevated here, why not just go all out and upgrade to one of the Sky Suites? With the one-bedroom penthouse, not only will you get postcard-worthy views and more flat-screen TVs than you'd find in an electronics store, but you'll enjoy extras like limousine transport from the airport, a personal concierge and access to the private Sky Suites Lounge, where you can indulge in drinks (yes, this includes alcohol) and snacks all day and night long. If you're thinking of smoking in your room at ARIA, don't. At checkout, you might find you've been hit with a $500-$1000 smoking restoration fee. Be aware that most of the resort's rooms (98 percent of them, only a few high roller suites have been exempted) are nonsmoking, so the only places you'll be able to light up are on the casino floor or in various bars. Parking at ARIA seems more confusing than it really is. The only way to access this garage is by turning off the Strip onto Aria Place. Follow the signs (there is no light) as these will indicate where the left turnoff is to a long ramp that goes down into the garage. This feels trickier than it is because you don't actually see the garage they guide you towards. We also just want to add that ARIA is set way back from the Strip. Of course, most Vegas Strip resorts involve a walk to reach Las Vegas Boulevard, but this is one of the longer ones. To get to the Strip, you'll have to go through The Shops at Crystals or walk along a series of shops parallel to City Center Place and take a pedestrian bridge across to The Shops at Crystals. Think of it as your workout to burn off those buffet calories.

Vdara Hotel & Spa at Aria Las Vegas is an all-suite, non-smoking and non-gaming hotel that features a wonderful pool deck and luxury rooms. The vibe: Chic boutique, secluded and artsy with modern touches. What we love: Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas seriously feels like a peaceful retreat, right in the heart of the Strip. Each suite also has a separate seating area, which makes your stay a lot more comfortable. If you want to do it big, the Panoramic Suites have a marvelous 270-degree view of the city. Insider tips: Spend an evening at Vice Versa Patio & Lounge, which has a beautiful outdoor patio complete with swings, fire pits and a curved reflecting pool. Your biggest issue will be deciding where to sit. Vice Versa is also open in the afternoon where you can enjoy some refreshing seasonal cocktails. Good to know: Vdara doesn’t have a casino, nightclub, shopping plaza or showroom. Keep in mind that Vdara is a non-smoking resort. At checkout, you will be fined a cleaning fee. If you want to light up, you'll need to do that next door at Aria's casino or bars. One of the perks about the hotel not having a casino is you don’t have to worry about the smoke. Plus, this eliminates a lot of the noise, making Vdara a super relaxing hotel. Also, Bellagio and Aria are both a quick walk away, so you can get your casino, show and shopping fix here.
