About Truskavets

Renowned for its mineral springs, Truskavets is a historic city nestled in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. Learn about the people and events that have shaped the city at the Museum of Truskavets, which occupies the beautiful Villa Sariush dating from the early 20th century. Its varied exhibits detail Truskavets’ early years as a balneological resort and its evolution into the modern city of today. The museum lies opposite the Monument to Andrii Sheptytsky, which honours the former Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Textiles by the Ukrainian artist Mykhailo Bilas are exhibited at the Mykhailo Bilas Art Museum, which forms part of an attractive old building overlooking a small park. Also within the complex is the Muzey “Vody”, a hands-on museum that explores Truskavets’ links to water. After your visit, you can grab a coffee at the nearby cafe that specialises in handmade chocolates from Lviv.

Visiting in the winter months? Head west to Bukovytsia, a popular ski resort since the times of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Take advantage of the ski lifts to access the snow trails of Bukovytsia Mountain or book a lesson with one of the experienced professionals at the on-site ski school.
