Ischia’s greatest drawcard is Castello Aragonese, a medieval castle resting on a rocky volcanic inlet off the coast of Ischia. Walk across the stone bridge and witness the incredible citadel inside, then climb to the top and relish in 360-degree views across the Mediterranean Sea.
Ischia’s lush gardens provide a shady retreat from the Mediterranean sun. Stroll through La Mortella, a subtropical garden in Forio and absorb the stunning views of the bay from the Tea House. Bathe in the hot springs at Maronti Beach or head to Cartaromana Beach to see Roman artefacts resting on the sea floor.
Getting there
Ferries and hydrofoils service the island of Ischia from Naples and Pozzuoli. If flying into Naples International Airport, you can take a taxi or private shuttle to Beverello Port.
