Bang Tao Beach is located along the northwestern side of the island of Phuket, Thailand, and is one of the longest beaches in the region. The expanse includes the recent division of the Laguna Complex, mostly consisting of high-end resorts. The six-kilometre long waterfront boasts unsurpassed relaxation in addition to inclusive ocean allures.

Visitors to the area are greeted with lengths of convenient sun beds, beach shacks, and opportunities for swimming and surfing. Jet skis are available for rental, and local companies offer horseback riding on the beach as well as paragliding and water skiing opportunities. Restaurants are the most plentiful area attraction including the popular Ceramic Kitchen Phuket, DeDos, Lotus Restaurant, and Babylon Beach Club.

Getting to Bang Tao Beach from nearby Surin Beach is possible following the main road 10 kilometres to traffic lights from which Laguna Phuket signs guide travellers to the destination. Bang Thao is situated about 25 minutes from Phuket airport. Free shuttle buses provide the majority of transportation around the area.

Commercialisation of the area of Bang Tao Beach is rooted in tin mining until its exhaustion, from which tourism spiked and floated the economy. Residents of the area now rely on the attraction of foreign travellers.
