It's walking distance to MRT station, the owners were very friendly and helpful. When it was time for check out and our flight to Thailand wasn't until in the evening, they kept our bags for us while we made the most of our last day exploring Singapore. I like that it encourages engagement between guests because of the shared toilets/bathrooms, kitchen, common rooms where guests could exchange travel tips and tales. I did not try it myself but it was interesting to see how other guests meet new friends (and save money) by posting announcements in the common room -- 'Leaving for the airport tomorrow by (indicates time), want to share the cab ride and split fare?' I also like it that they provide reading lights and plug adapters for each guest. So even if you're sharing the room, you don't disturb them with overhead lighting when you want to read (vice-versa) and no worries if you forgot your adapter for your devices/gadgets. Common areas (kitchen, dining room, living area) are always kept clean. It's maintained by a family and I wonder if they ever get to sleep because if you have inquiries, they seem to be always there with a ready smile and answer. For a hostel, it's excellent service. This is not really the place's fault. I prefer rooms with views, but it so happened that our budget and needs at that time (we want a private room that could fit 4 persons) would be served best by their 4-bed mixed dormitory (which had no windows). In the end, I didn't mind it so much because we spent most of our time outdoors anyway, and we only really need a place to sleep and shower.
