This was our first time in Costa Rica. Overall, this is a quiet resort (ie. not a place to party with a great atmosphere (older crowd), good pools, and not so great beach. The Resort is located about 25 minutes from the Liberia airport (so we get there quick). The week we were there, the weather was really nice - warm with no clouds but windy. The main pool was cleaned on a regular basis - which was important since the windy weather sent many leaves into the pool. There are only a few smoking areas around the Resort (no smoking around the pool) - which is great for non-smokers. The selection of food at the buffet was fine, not a large selection, but was good. We ate at two À la carte Restaurants - Oriental, which was delicious and the Italian, which was OK. The staff at the buffet and À la carte Restaurants are great. Our room was located at the far end of the Resort - nice comfortable room. The grounds of the Resort are clean, except one area - going toward the beach on the right hand side a little bit of pick-up of the bushes branches could be done. There are monkeys and lots of birds on the Resort which are nice to see and hear. The Resort offers a shuttle service to the Coco Beach - great place to shop, really nice and safe. The cost is $12.00 US per person round trip. We recommend this Resort and will go again, but this time for two weeks Jacamar was the provider for this excursion. We had a fantastic guide. This excursion is highly recommended. Please note that it is a long day, but worth it! The cost is $170 US per person. The bus leaves at 5:00am from the Resort. (FYI, you can ask the Resort to prepare you a lunch box for breakfast as we are eating breakfast in Nicaragua). Just crossing the boarder between Costa Rica and Nicaragua is worth the experience! Arriving in Nicaragua around 8:00 am, stopping in a restaurant for breakfast, which was excellent then another 30 minutes of bus ride and the visit starts.
