My wife and I were on a package holiday with Jet2 holidays. The weather at home the day before had meant our flight had to land elsewhere and we left some 4 hours later after being 'bussed' to the alternative airport, meaning us losing a good 4 hrs off our one week break. This is a very upmarket hotel, it was one of the most expensive in the brochure. On arrival we were met by a male receptionist who completely lost his way on the computerised system. One is given a tiny slip of paper to fill in all details and he then input this incorrectly and the system would not accept it. He just kept trying and trying and even getting another male to rectify it, neither could. After a 4 hr delay we did not appreciate another 40 mins in reception (no seats) when he apologised and allowed us to go to the room after copying everything he needed on the promise I went back to sign everything later (I did). Our fist time to Tenerife in 30 years, but our second visit to a Melia Hotel (so impressed by them). This was our only hiccup. All the staff extremely pleasant (we were all inclusive), meals really good, (bacon on a morning could do with cooking a bit longer) although there is lots of background noise in the main buffet area (Mosaic) 'Mosaico' mainly from other guests. Drinks ordered come very quickly both when dining or drinking next to the pool or in the main lounge on floor 5 (reception level). We did struggle to find the buffet on the first evening (was becoming dark when arriving after going to room to change) as there was no signage for the area in the lift, and signage a bit difficult to follow on exiting lift (we went down the steps to floor 3 looking for it!). Booking an activity a bit 'hit and miss', one has to find a trainer first no phone to ring to register and the trainers are either doing an activity or 'disappear'.
