This is a very big hotel development in Madang by the sea-- but there is no beach. You can wander around to a small market outside the hotel where everyone was very friendly. To go further afield i think you would need organised tours The rooms were large and comfortable. Nice bathrooms with big showers. The breakfasts and dinners were a bit limited on their offerings for a hotel of this standard- but it is of course difficult to get supplies in. The pool area was a bit grubby. I thought the cages for the tree kangaroos far too small. There is not a lot to do in the hotel complex itself. But its probably the best in the area. One problem that the resort does have, is that some of the garden staff tend to simply throw rubbish in the water/bay, which then tends to hang around the waterside rooms in large quantities, and gets washed up on shore. What doesn't get washed up, sinks, and then can be a danger to local aquatic life. In this time in our history, I was very disappointed to see that sort of behavior happening in a world class resort. I will probably visit again in the future, but would really like to see the disposal of rubbish conducted in a sustainable manner for the health of local and international waters.
